Looking for breakfast near the venue/houses? Beltie's is only about 15 minutes away with delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches and espresso drinks (Matthew even said it's his favorite espresso drinks in the area!). Plus they have Belties cows to look at
Belle Restaurant and Bakery
Looking for breakfast in Charlottesville? Belle's is one of our favorites. It's actually where we had the second part of our first date (after we worked up an appetite kayaking and Matthew trying to teach Katie how to roll her kayak)
The Farmers Market at IX
If you're in the Charlottesville area on Saturday morning, the farmer's market from 9 AM - 1 PM is one of our favorite weekend spots!
Brent Manor Vineyards
One of Katie's absolute favorite wineries - just minutes away from the venue itself! Matthew even got Katie a wine club membership here one year for her birthday. There's a great mix of Virginia native wine as well as several imported from Portugal. The owners are fantastic and it has a fun small winery feel. The views are also wonderful (including Matthew in this photo)
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
For one of the more iconic Monticello Wine Trail Vineyards, Pippin Hill is just 15 minutes from both Charlottesville and the venue!
Humpback Rock Hike
A classic Blue Ridge Mountain Hike, about 45 minutes from the venue/30 minutes from Charlottesville. While it's short (2 miles), it's also steep and rocky at the top so be sure to wear good shoes
Monticello
A Charlottesville classic! You can get tickets for general admission or guided tours to explore Thomas Jefferson's Estate. There is also the Saunders-Monticello Trail which is a 2 mile trail up to the estate. The trail system is actually only 2 minutes away from where Katie and Matthew live and is a favorite place to explore with Parker and Madelyn on sunny evenings
