Wedding Party

Dora (soon to be Marquez)

Bride

I first met Quentin when I interviewed him in college for a newspaper article, but we didn't realize it until after we started dating. And now, he knows me too well. Where you'll find me: In the arms of my new husband dancing the night away.

Quentin Marquez

Groom

I met Dora the day before classes started freshman year at the University of Iowa. We started dating after we took a class together our sophomore year, and have been in love ever since. Where you'll find me: On the dance floor with my beautiful wife and best friends.

Lydia Reis

Matron of Honor

I am Dora’s older sister. I’m so excited to have Quentin join our family! Where you'll find me: At the reception you will find me on the dance floor most likely busting out some old dance recital moves with Dora.

Eddie Walters

Best Man

It all began back in 1992 when two storks collided outside of Omaha and one mistakenly landed in Texas and one in Nebraska. Eighteen years later, two devilishly handsome young men met for the first time and said "OMG we must be brothers?!" From late nights in the hot tub and morning coffee runs, to wake up calls from Q's dog Chester getting into bed, we were in a deep bromance until the summer of 2011 when we parted ways to college. Four years and many more beers later, the two bromance became three. Dora the Explorer Marquez. Raised on Fireball and newspaper, she was the smartest girl that could out drink me. Now here we are, Quentin and I getting married, and Dora is our best wing woman! I guess it turned out for the best. Where you'll find me: Rocking the dance floor with Sonja!

Alicia Kramme

Maid of Honor

I met Dora when we were both writing and editing at our college newspaper. Our friendship was quickly cemented by margarita-fueled study breaks, Hawkeye football tailgates, and venting about academic stress. She soon met Q and I was lucky to see their romance blossom into a beautiful relationship – and they both also became two of my dearest, closest friends. We now live in the same city, where we still vent about stress to each other over margs. Where you'll find me: At the buffet getting a second (or third) helping of pasta.

Dan Verhille

Groomsman

I met Dora at the Daily Iowan, but we became close friends after I shouted from a rooftop for Dora to join me at a Cinco de Mayo party. I met "this guy" she was "sort of seeing" named Quentin later that week, and nearly 6 years later, I consider them two of my closest friends. I am also the dogfather of Dora and Quentin's dog, Murphy. Where you'll find me: You're most likely to find me on the dance floor with a drink in my hand, doing the worst version of the BlocBoy JB dance you will ever see.

Chelsea Weis

Bridesmaid

Dora and Q are some of my best friends from college. I would not have made it through, or drank so much, without them. Where you'll find me: I’ll be the one trying to hold a drink and a camera at the same time.

Trevin Cusimano

Groomsman

I, like many, met Quentin on my first day of "Hell Week" in the Hawkeye Marching Band (<3 Tones). What followed has been years of brotherly love, occasional friction, and general insanity that I wouldn't trade for anything. As for Dora, I may have met her through Quentin, but all that means is that I've known her almost as long, and I love her just as much. She's a lioness and she knows it. Where you'll find me: If past wedding receptions are any indication, you can find me in a dark corner, double fisting drinks, talking to friends, and generally pretending I'm too cool/mysterious to dance....at least until I'm drunk enough to lose my mind when Ricky Martin starts playing.

Marissa Meyers

Bridesmaid

Back to the Hawkeye days. At the time, I was dating someone in the band that is good friends with Quentin. Iowa being Iowa, there was ALWAYS activities going and events to attend. I would attend most, but was definitely the black sheep of the group as I was not part of the band. Cue my partner in crime, Dora Grote. We became instant friends and honorary band members. I will forever thank Q for introducing me to Dora. Love you both so much! Where you'll find me: Definitely on the dance floor! Give me some throwbacks and I’ll dance the night away.

Miller Cambridge

Groomsman

Quentin is my step-brother and life long friend, we grew up performing in choir and theatre together. We were both going to college in Iowa City which is where I was introduced to Dora. She's part of the Family! Where you'll find me: dance floor, bar, dance floor, bar, and etc.....

Carleigh Martin

Bridesmaid

I met Dora the first year I started dancing with Kristi in 2003! Fast forward 14 years (yikes, we're old) to when Q and Murph came by the studio after a dance practice. I think that's the first official time I met Q, but I remember you telling me all about him when ya'll were in college, so I feel like I've known him way longer than that! We had our first official quality bonding session at Boulevardia last summer, so now we're besties. Where you'll find me: I'll definitely be tearing it up on the dance floor at the reception, but if I'm not there then I'll be over at the DJ booth requesting Loose Yourself, Hey Ya, and more of our greatest hits from our dance days. Remember when we'd break out some choreography at middle school dances? It's happening at your reception too. ;)

Ryan King

Groomsman

I met Q freshman year of high school in football. We got to know each other over the season and of course in band. We never really stopped hanging out after that, and trips to Iowa City, KC, Lincoln, and the BVI later, I'd say it's been pretty great. I always knew Q would end up with a girl who was as hard-working as he was. I could tell you both bring out the best in each other, and your enthusiasm every time we get our friends together shows you are a good friend. It was a swift seal of approval from me, and I'm sure it was from everyone else. Where you'll find me: I will be showing off both of my dance moves all night, however trips to and from the bar tend to be frequent, as I will be thirsty from the dancing.

Emily Jones

Bridesmaid

I met Dora freshman year of college when we were randomly assigned to be roommates. We were there for each other through every victory and mental breakdown, especially since privacy doesn’t exist in a dorm room. We lived together for two more years and experienced the best of Iowa City together; some of my fondest memories include early morning tailgating and late night pokie stix. I was beyond excited to hear that she and the drum major had started talking and that she would be exposed to the eccentric marching band culture that I know and love. Years later and states apart, she is still one of my best friends and strongest supporters. I can’t wait for the big day! Where you'll find me: You’ll likely find me mingling with old friends and switching off between the bar and dance floor!

Dustin Davis

Groomsman

I met Quentin during our time together in the Hawkeye Marching Band, where I initially knew him as the good looking guy who smiled too much. After getting to know him, it became clear to me we would be lifelong friends. In college, we would drink together 5 nights a week: Sundays at Old Chicago, Six Pack Tuesdays, Quinton's on Thursdays, beer band on Fridays, general shenanigans on Saturdays. One of those weeks, Quentin invited friends over, including this girl from one of his classes. Little did I know that the girl yelling as she stumbled down the stairs to his apartment would be Dora, the love of his life. Where you'll find me: On the dance floor, at the bar or perhaps outside lighting up a cigar, because what wedding is complete without a Stogie you bought on the way to the reception.

Meghan Kraft

Personal Attendant

I met Dora through work and during her first work trip we learned we share similar interest — dogs, craft beer, and traveling. Dora and Quentin (plus Murph) have joined along on a couple lake trips where we always have a great time. As well as going out in Kansas City! Where you'll find me: The balcony overlooking the city or the bar!

Anna Theodosis

Personal Attendant

I met Dora our freshman year of college at The Daily Iowan and Quentin shortly after they met. I still remember Dora telling us about him for the first time in the newsroom. From there on we were all spending more time together and became close friends. Where you'll find me: You're most likely to find me on the dance floor at the reception.

Asmaa Elkeurti

Photographer

Dora and I were both news writers for our university's paper, The Daily Iowan. We had our first meeting in August, before college had officially started, and we hit it off. Years later, we were sitting at a coffee shop, supposed to be doing homework, and Dora was telling me all about somebody she'd met named Q. I instantly knew this guy was special. And the rest is history! Where you'll find me: If you need me at the wedding, look for me on the dance floor. I'll be the one with the flashing camera and amazing (read: embarrassing) dance moves.

Murphy

Dog of Honor

Bark, bark. Woof, woof. I love my parents. Will sit for treats.
