The Crag Rat Hut is the oldest Mountain Rescue group in the United States. It is a non-profit organization and the rental fees go to the operation and rescue efforts of the group. Is the engagement ring Carly's birthstone?

No, the vintage aquamarine engagement ring Andrew chose is not Carly's birthstone (that is Topaz), but there is a deep meaning for his choice. Traditionally, mariners would wear this precious gem to protect themselves from the perils at sea. Some sailors would even gift an aquamarine to their wives as a promise to always return home from a voyage safely. Andrew being the romantic he is knew this was the perfect ring to symbolize their relationship.

What is PNW Formal?

Answer

Short answer: tie is optional and NO tennis shoes or tee shirts. We want our guest to look their best, but be comfortable. Long Answer: PNW Formal is a term Carly and Andrew use for the way people dress in Portland. It is casual yet refined. Oregonians are practical people so they won't let social practices get in the way of what the weather is dictating, so if it rains bring a rain jacket and if it shines have your sun hat. The ceremony will take place outside and the dining will be indoor/outdoor. The parking lot is gravel but the ceremony is on cement pavers.
