From the moment that we met, we knew that we would be quickly deleting our dating apps. We're a dating app success story! We met in August 2019 and talked for a few weeks before finally having our first date at Butters, a local brunch spot. We talked for hours and closed down the restaurant, and it felt so easy to have great conversation. Abby met Kevin & Meri after just a few weeks of dating, and we made it "official" shortly after. Erik met Ed, Darlene and Maddy in November of 2019, when they visited Phoenix for Thanksgiving. Erik met Coco on the second date in September 2019, and she wasn't sure about him. Abby had only adopted Coco one month before, and she got used to us being a family of two. Thankfully, she decided that Erik could stay once she knew that he could be easily manipulated for treats. She thinks Erik's family is pretty cool, too. We got to know quickly whether or not we were really "the ones" for each other because we moved in together in January 2020. After a year of being stuck in a tiny apartment, we were fortunate enough to buy our first home in March 2021. And then finally... after 4 years of dating, Erik proposed on September 3, 2023 at the Desert Botanical Gardens, with the plotting help of family.
