Schloss Basthorst

Our wedding party will be at the ever so lovely Schloss Basthorst. It is about 20 minutes from Schwerin, but due to the small town nature, it is remote enough that travel to another location on that night would be difficult, so we'd recommend that you take a room at the hotel for the night. Unless of course, you forgo the beersies. We have organised with the hotel for special rates for the duration of your stay, just let them know you are there for the Liddell/Mahler wedding. For those English speakers amongst you, we have a form you can email in as it is a German speaking venue. Please note: The offer is based on the assumption that most of our guests will want to stay there, so please let us know as early as possible if you will not be. Flight

Hamburg International Airport, Berlin Tegel Airport, Berlin Schönefeld

Hamburg: The closest airport to Schwerin is Hamburg International Airport. Schwerin town is then either a 1.5hr drive by car, or a 1hr train ride (from Hamburg Haupbahnhof). Berlin: Most international guests will fly into Berlin Tegel. However, if you are flying from another EU location, you may fly into Berlin Schönefeld. Drive time is approximately 2.5 hrs to Schwerin, or a 2hr train (from Berlin Haupbahnhof). Schloss Basthorst is then a 20 minute drive from the city centre. If you are arriving directly for the ceremony, it is located in the city of Schwerin. Please let us know during your planning if you are struggling with transport options, as we are more than happy to help find solutions!

Directions directly to Schloß Basthorst

Coming from Berlin: By car, take the A24 towards Hamburg until the Schwerin junction. There you take the A14. Follow this road until you reach the Schwerin-Ost exit. From there, take the B321 towards Crivitz, then follow the signs to Basthorst. You need about 2 hours by car to get there. Coming from Hamburg: Take the A24 towards Berlin. In the triangle Schwerin change to the A14. Follow this road until you reach the Schwerin-Ost exit. From there, take the B321 towards Crivitz, then follow the signs to Basthorst. You need about 1.5 hours by car for the route. We wish you a pleasant trip!   Park: There are about 100 marked parking spaces available on the area as well as 2 bus parking spaces and 25 paid parking facilities in our underground car park.
