How We Met

The year? 2016. The place? Hot club. The drinks? Titos and sodas with lemon. ALWAYS LEMON. The company? A few good friends. If you were to take us back to that moment and tell us in 7 years time we would be engaged and in love we would of both laughed hysterically and thought you were crazy, but here we are. We became friends. Best friends. We worked together at Chardonnays and made endless memories. We laughed and we cried. We saw each other at some low points and some really high ones. Then, somewhere along the line (we aren't quite sure when) our friendship turned into something more and the rest has been history.

The Proposal

7.28.22

Santa Maria, Azores 🤍 From the grooms perspective: I knew that when I wanted to ask Marleigh it had to be perfect. I had Portugal in mind for the longest time, and knew that was where I was going to do it. I was so nervous, not just asking her, but making sure I didn’t lose the damn ring on the way over! We were there for a week before I asked her. My uncle was getting married so I knew I had to wait and ask her after their wedding. I was pumped. The day finally came and I couldn’t wait. My mom had all of these cute little props she was going to set up. We got to a cute little restaurant on the ocean, and I knew it was the perfect spot; right near the beach which is my Marleighs happy place. I put the ring in my back pocket and walked with her over near a little rock wall. I didn’t even wait for my mom to set everything up. I had lost patience and was so anxious and excited. Marleigh was wearing this beautiful white dress and looked like an angel. The moment was perfect. I wish I could remember what I even said. Everything is a blur, but the memory of her face when she said yes will always be imprinted in my memory. The love of my life staring down at me saying yes was the memory of a life time. That was one of the best days of my life, and we can wait to share our special day with you. From the bride’s perspective: It was another beautiful day in Santa Maria, Azores. We were all a little hungover from the wedding the night before so we just hung out for the day! It was our last day on that island. I remember the girls telling me since it was our last day we should all wear a cute dress. To my surprise when we knocked on everyone’s door to leave for dinner I was the only one in a dress lol! They played it off good though and told me to just keep it on. We went to this first restaurant but in true island time it wasn’t the fastest service and everyone seemed to be a little on edge because we wanted to make the sunset. We ended up leaving there and going to another restaurant we had been previously where is was so beautiful. Now I know why everyone was stressed 😂! When we got to the restaurant we sat down and ordered! Ann being sneaky, snuck away to set up some of the cute little props she brought. Ryan seemed on edge so I suggested we go in side and get a drink! Looking back now I know why. lol! On our way out he suggested we go for a little walk by the ocean. At this point I could feel his energy and his nerves when he started his speech! We both have no idea what was said LOL! As we were walking he stopped and turned me around and got down on one knee! Looking down at him with this beautiful ring in a box and his big smile as he asked me to be his wife was truly an amazing moment. Ryan is truly the best man. He’s so smart, kind, sensitive, funny, and has such a good heart. The answer was an easy yes. I am so lucky to have him in my life. We ended the night back at our hotel with a cocktail calling all our friends/family and dancing alone in our hotel room. A day/night I will never forget. I cannot wait to share with you all our special wedding day we have planned! See you all in June!
