The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, is best known as the inspiration for Stephen King's horror masterpiece, The Shining, and for its reputation as one of America's most haunted hotels. Opened in 1909, it is a historic landmark offering luxury, stunning Rocky Mountain views, and paranormal experiences, particularly in Room 217. The ghost tour is a great way to see the hotel but advanced purchase of tickets is recommended. You can stay here, if you dare, as the property is located just a 1/2 mile from The Black Canyon Inn, where the wedding will be. Only the main hotel is haunted.. there are many other options like the modern residences and The Aspire Hotel & Spa (on the same property).
Walk along the river, shop at local boutiques, listen to live music at a brewery and visit candy shops like The Taffy Shop.
