In the summer of 2018, Kyle was having some friends on the boat, and our friends Joey & Alia were joining. Alia was going to bring some friends on the EMU soccer team to join, which included Marla. While Kyle and Marla didn't say much to each other that day (Marla still makes fun of Kyle for this), their eyes crossed paths MANY, MANY times. They exchanged contact information, and after some time, finally went on their first date on April 26th, 2019 (Kyle remembers this because it is the day Marvel Avengers: End Game released. He talked about it the entire date). It didn't take long for Marla and Kyle to fall in love, as they found to have endless amounts of fun and laughter together. After 5 years of long distance from Grand Rapids to Ypsilanti, Trenton to Fenton (Yes, they rhyme), and Fenton to Traverse City, Kyle FINALLY proposed on September 28th, 2024 on the exact beach that they decided they were moving to Traverse City.
