Katie and Amanda spent A LOT of time together during their master’s program. They were roommates, classmates, and best friends ever since. I knew Amanda was going to be my bestie when we first moved to Boston because when my bed wasn’t delivered on time and my parents had flown home, she let me sleep in her room. We bonded over musical theater and our love of singing. She was “my person” right away and I have leaned on her for support more times than I can count! She taught me all about reality tv therapy and fostered my love of Big Brother. While she tried desperately to find me a boyfriend our first semester, she ultimately missed out on the thanksgiving I met Rob. But she was there for all the rest, and we are so lucky she’s in our lives!
Alex Fam

Alex is another bestie of Katie’s from their speech pathology master’s program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Alex is the most creative and talented person I know! (She just released an album— check her out at alexfammusic.com. Alex and I were placed in all of the same groups first semester, but it wasn’t until we attended the free Backstreet Boys concert at the Hatch Shell that we became friends and then gym buds! Alex is the best listener in the world and always makes me feel better. She is a ray of sunshine and I’m so lucky she stayed in Boston too!
Annette Beszka

Annette and Katie met through their friend, Sahar, whom Katie lived with when she first moved to Michigan (after her master’s program). They lived super close to each other in Royal Oak and bonded when Sahar tore her ACL and was bound to the couch (it was like a several week sleepover!) Annette is a big sis I never had and understands my homebody tendencies like nobody else. Her home became my home away from home! We made dinners (usually after kickboxing) and watched hours and hours of tv (specifically Married at First Sight, the Affair, and Shameless). She wins the award for best at keeping in touch! I love our FaceTime chats and I’m so happy to have her in my life!
Carissa Pezzella
Bridesmaid, Wing Woman
You’ve likely read about Carissa already in the “How we met” section of this wedding website (she’s the one who bought me a boyfriend/fiancé/soon-to-be hubby). Katie and Carissa rushed the same sorority in college and have remained steadfast friends. Carissa is such a loyal and loving friend. She’s a friend I could call anytime, anywhere and I know she would pick up the phone and come to save the day. We graduated college at GA State together and stayed around Atlanta for an adventurous first year post grad. I had the privilege of being in her wedding party last summer, and I’m so happy to have her in mine. I’m also looking forward to spoiling her baby due this summer!
Chasity Harcharik

Chasity and Katie have been besties since high school show choir. Chasity (and her mini) is another ray of sunshine! Some highlights from our friendship include getting ready for prom, performing in a trio and in Guys and Dolls and Bye Bye Birdie, bacheloretting in Myrtle Beach, her wedding weekend, and loving on her adorable daughter, Izzy! I have always admired Chasity for all that she has overcome and all that she has made for herself. She is one of the best people I know. (When I first met Rob, I recognized some of these same qualities I admired about Chasity). She kind, generous, and sincere. She spreads love wherever she goes. Hers is the best kind of friendship that picks up right where we left off every single time. So happy to have her in my life!
Zuie Wakade

Last, but not least, is Zuie! She and Katie also met through Sahar (thanks, Sahar!) and were roomies the second year Katie was in Michigan. Zuie is another ray of sunshine and marches to the beat of her own drum! While she is one-of-a-kind, she is also my kindred spirit and can almost always read my mind. She just gets me. She and I share a love of Art Deco, secret societies, speakeasies, true crime, and pondering the complexities of life. She introduced me to all the best things in Detroit, vintage stores, gardening, and some pretty awesome people. She has been there for me during my toughest times and is another big sister I never had. So lucky to have her as a bestie!
Ryan Hartigan

Ryan is Rob’s younger brother and best friend. He is funny, caring, and is good with his hands. He is going to make an awesome brother-in-law for Katie! We are so proud of the person he’s become and the life he created for himself and honored to have him as the best man.

Brother of the bride, AJ is funny, caring, smart, and creative. He is the responsible sibling and we are so proud of all he has accomplished.

Jed and Rob were bandmates and have remained close friends throughout the years. They were roommates for a while and they share a passion for music and love of the Patriots.

Jesse is a one-of-a-kind friend. He is hilarious, an amazing cook, and a faithful friend.

Paul and Rob also met on the music scene and played in the band together. They lived together during Rob’s time in law school. Paul is the life of the party and always a good time!

Last, but not least, Pete is a one of a kind friend! Although he and Rob went to the same high school, they became close friends after school and also played in the same band.
