Rob and I met the day after Thanksgiving in 2013. My friend, Carissa, had come to visit me in Boston. There was not much to do the day after Thanksgiving, so we decided to stroll around Davis Square when we came upon a bar (GASP!) with live music. I didn't want to pay the $5 cover, but Carissa wanted to go in, so she paid my cover. Rob's friend, Joe, had convinced Rob to go to the same bar that night. Rob reluctantly went as Joe's wingman. There were not very many people there, given the holiday, so Carissa and I noticed right away that we had caught the attention of two guys. Gradually, we made our way to the same area, they introduced themselves, and the rest is history! Rob and I bonded right away over the music, we danced together (even though we both don't dance!), and he asked if he could take me on a real date. I said yes, thinking I'd never hear from him again. He told me he was in law school and had exams coming up, so he didn't have a lot of free time. He said "How about tomorrow night?" Much to my surprise, he followed through, and took me on a lovely date to a steakhouse at Faneuil Hall and even paid for a carriage ride through downtown Boston after dinner. Upon finding out about the success of the date, Carissa now proudly claims that she bought me a boyfriend, now fiancé, and soon-to-be husband! (also, for someone who was soooo busy with exams, Rob sure did manage to take me on a number of dates before I went home to GA for 3 weeks for the holidays-- don't worry-- we both passed that semester with flying colors)
