What is the dress code?

For the Ladies: Think light, flowy, and colorful! Mini or maxi dresses in breathable fabrics are perfect for the setting. Please lean into soft, vibrant tones like light blue, pink, yellow, coral, or orange. We kindly ask that you avoid neutral colors (white, black, grey, navy blue, etc.)—we want the day to feel full of life and color! For the Gents: Keep it tropical casual—think linen shirts, polos, short-sleeve button-downs, paired with light chinos or dressy shorts. Bright or pastel shades are encouraged, and no need for jackets or ties. Easy, breezy, and polished is the goal.

What is the weather like in the area?

The weather in June in the Dominican Republic is hot and humid. The mornings are often clear and sunny with a chance of rain in the afternoons.

What is the currency and can I pay in USD?

Answer

The official currency in the Dominican Republic is the Dominican Peso (DOP). However, U.S. dollars are widely accepted, especially in tourist areas. Here are a few helpful tips: – Hotel Alisei, where we’ll be staying, accepts U.S. dollars and credit cards for payment. – If you'd like to have pesos on hand, the easiest and most convenient way to get them is at an ATM at the airport. We recommend using the Banco Popular ATM on the first floor of the terminal—after baggage claim, face the main exit doors and you’ll find it on the left side. – The current exchange rate is approximately DOP $57.50 = USD $1.00. – Bring small bills in USD for tips, taxis, and smaller purchases. – Most major hotels and larger shops accept credit cards, but it's always helpful to have some cash for local vendors or outings.

How do we get to the hotel from the Airport?

Answer

Its a 3 hour drive from the airport to the hotel. We will have a few scheduled shuttle buses to take people to and from the airport. To ensure you'll make it onto one of these scheduled buses please send us your ideal fight arrival and departure dates and time prior to booking.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at the hotel?

Answer

Yes, we have a number of rooms blocked off at Hotel Alisei. Please RSVP and submit your room preference sooner than later to get your first pick. Find more info on the rooms and hotel under the 'Travel' tab.

Will we need to get a rental car?

Answer

A rental car will not be necessary. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and activities.
