Although Marko and Nicole both attended a company happy hour cruise along the Potomac in Washington, D.C. , they didn't meet until the afterparty. Nicole found Marko sitting at the edge of the group and introduced herself. Their shared love of travel certainly sparked their curiosity, but it wasn't until they both got into a "spirited" debate on who would ultimately sit on the Iron Throne that things really got interesting! The next day, Marko couldn't help but think of the curious coworker he met that night and knew he had to see her again. After finding her in the company directory, he reached out asking if they could meet for coffee and chat about recommendations for his upcoming Euro trip. Unsure whether it was a date or just a really strange work meeting, Nicole hesitantly agreed. As they sipped their coffees and laughed at each other's witty jokes and casual charm, they both began to silently hope any memory of their conversation wouldn't be lost while Marko was busy Euro-tripping for the next two weeks. Nicole thought she was just getting ready for a picnic in Balboa Park. What she didn't know, is that Marko had a lot more in store for her. After they had settled in and snacked on their food, Marko surprised Nicole with a gift -- a custom photo album of their adventures together since the day they met. As Nicole flipped through the pages, Marko motioned the photographer to get in position. The last page had two tickets to Lake Tahoe, which revealed the words "The Beginning...of Our Next Adventure." Already the best Valentine's Day she could have hoped for, it got even better when she turned to see Marko on one knee!
