Things To Do

If you want a daytime adventure before the evening celebrations, or if you are visiting from out of town, we are excited to share a few of our favorite spots close to our wedding venue with you! San Rafael is close to many great hikes, eateries, markets, wineries, national tourist attractions, and more. Use this list as inspiration!
101 Surf Sports San Rafael

101 Surf Sports San Rafael

115 3rd Street, San Rafael, CA 94901

Great beginner-friendly place to kayak or paddleboard. One of our favorite date spots! Paddle out for a close-up view of the Bay Bridge. Cool off with a quick swim! Rental gear is provided.

Johnny Doughnuts

Johnny Doughnuts

1617 4th Street, San Rafael, CA 94901

Need we say more? This place is a delicious snack stop after paddleboarding. Gluten-free, vegan, and cronut options all available. If warm, freshly baked donuts aren't enticing enough, the mocha lattes also use their chocolate donut glaze instead of syrup, and...we ain't mad at it.

Mount Tamalpais State Park

Mount Tamalpais State Park

Mill Valley, CA

Mt. Tam offers stunning views and plenty of hiking. If you are feeling adventurous, hike to the peak from Stinson Beach. Just make sure you have energy left over for the dance floor!

San Francisco Botanical Garden

San Francisco Botanical Garden

1199 9th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122

We went here to enjoy the many flowers during magnolia season. It's a relaxing place to take a long walk with someone dear and see plants from all over the world! Pack a picnic and a good book for a chill day. Stroll and sip coffee from a nearby café (Racquel has too many café recommendations to keep this list brief)!

Legion of Honor

Legion of Honor

100 34th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94121

Racquel's favorite art museum. Check out the Impressionism gallery! She'd bet Monet you will enjoy it. Saturdays are free admission for Bay Area residents!

Taco Bell Cantina

Taco Bell Cantina

5200 California 1, Pacifica, CA 94044

You will never see Racquel recommending lunch at Taco Bell... the Bay Area is world renowned for great places to eat (and real tacos), but I once took her here to the most beautiful Taco Bell in the world, and this is her only exception. If you are driving up from San Jose, it's a familiar cheap lunch, but right on the beach. Get in some surf, a nachos bell grande, maybe a margarita!

Pink Owl Coffee

Pink Owl Coffee

1100 4th Street, San Rafael, CA 94901

If you just need a last minute caffeine boost before the ceremony, this place is right down the street from our venue!
