Racquel walked with a friend by Inklings café and was stopped short by the view through the window. Though the building was incredibly inviting — wall-to-wall bookshelves, brass ceilings, and C.S. Lewis memorabilia — they were on a mission elsewhere, too busy to stop in. She had a feeling whenever she finally visited it, it would be special. Years later, Markkus met Racquel and called her every day for a month while he was in New York for work. He gladly stayed up late as they talked for hours and found they both had a deep love for Christ, building up the church, and playing volleyball. When he returned to the Bay Area, he asked her out to meet in-person for the first time. She enthusiastically suggested Inklings, as it was halfway between their cities. One lavender latte later, they were having the best first date of their lives. She was bubbly and easygoing. He was warm-hearted, kind, and made her laugh so much with his med school stories that she spilled coffee all over her skirt. Markkus and Racquel's love grew, and she didn't wait long before he proposed outside of their dear café. Now they will share lattes for life!
