Neither of them remembers exactly how and when they met, but they do know it was sometime in Fall of 2016. Stephanie and Mark were both members of a volunteering club at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Fortuitously, they also happened to be next door neighbors. That year, they continued to develop their budding friendship. Over time, their friendship evolved into a relationship.

To celebrate New Year of 2021, Mark and Stephanie went to San Luis Obispo. Mark planned a picnic on the sand dunes at Montana de Oro State Park,overlooking the ocean. As they enjoyed charcuterie and champagne, Mark got down on one knee and popped the question!
