Abby is Mark's daughter, and Sara's bonus daughter. Abby is a recent graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, and a new 4-8 grade band teacher. She has waited 8 years for this day! We are incredibly honored to have her in this role.
Nick Borene
Best Man
Nick is Mark's son, and Sara's bonus son. He is presently serving in America's Navy as a barracks manager. When we got engaged, Nick was only 12 years old, but Mark asked him then if he'd be his best man!
Alexandra Rose
Bridesmaid
Alexandra, or AJ, is the daughter of Sara's brother, Jeff. She lives in California, and is a sophomore in high school. She is so excited to be a part of our special day, and we are honored to have her!!!
Asher Akins
Groomsman
Asher is the son of Sara's sister, Katy, and lives in Omaha, NE. He's a very busy 8th grader, who is likely sacrificing a rehearsal of his spring musical, in order to be at our wedding. Between his lacrosse matches, show choir, and musical, he's excited to celebrate our special day with us, and we're delighted to have him joining us!
Claire Borene
Bridesmaid
Claire is the daughter of Mark's older brother, Steve and his wife, Kris. She's a sophomore at the University of Alabama, majoring in PR (Public Relations) with a minor in sales and digital consumer engagement. She is also a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Claire is rushing to our wedding after her finals, and we truly appreciate that she's willing and able to do that!
Austin Akins
Groomsman
Austin is the youngest of the bunch! He's a 5th grade student in Omaha, and Sara's sister, Katy's youngest. He didn't like the idea of wearing a tie, until we explained that he gets to be in the wedding if he wears a tie. Then he was 100% on board, because, he's also thrilled to celebrate our special day with us. He's waited most of his life for this day!
James Borene
Groomsman
James is the son of Mark's brother, Steve, and his wife, Kris. James is a freshman soccer player at Tiffin University, studying finance. We didn't think James was going to be able to be with us for the day initially, but he's moved some things around and we're delighted to have him joining us to celebrate!
Danny Frisby
Ring Bearer
Danny is a super special family friend. His mom was one of Sara's first friends when she moved back to Minnesota, and we are thrilled that his parents agreed to let him be in our wedding. Sara was also a part time, temporary nanny to Danny last year for several months.
Nora, Abigail, and Samuel
Flower Children
Nora, Abigail, and Samuel have been my nanny children for over 6 years. I've invited several former nanny children to participate in this role, so more may be added! They are very excited about our wedding, and have been offering suggestions and "inspo" drawings since we set the date!
