FAQs

If you have any other questions than what is listed here, please reach out to our coordinator, Taylor, at taylor@chicagovintageweddings.com.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

September 1st was the deadline so please do it as soon as possible.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional. Typically, this means men can opt to wear tuxedos or dark suits, and women may wear long gowns or more formal shorter dresses.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes. We've asked our caterer to exclude peanuts and tree nuts from all menu items. Please let us know on the RSVP if you have an allergy or dietary restriction.

Question

What are you doing about Covid?

Answer

We are following all City of Chicago guidelines. As of 8/23, that means everyone must mask. The great majority of our guests have been vaccinated, and we really encourage you to get vaccinated if you have not. We're big proponents of science and we want our loved ones to stay as safe as possible. Additionally, who knows if the city or any of the venues (Church, Fairlie, Guaranteed Rate Field, Marriott properties, etc.) will issue a vaccine mandate. We've waited so long for this day - please support us by getting vaccinated.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a parking lot directly west of Holy Family Church. There is also a parking lot at Fairlie.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a block reserved at The Gwen, a fabulous hotel right off Rush / Michigan Avenue area near the Riverwalk. First drink is on us! We also have a block at The Sheraton Grand only a few blocks away from The Gwen. Both options can be viewed on the "Travel" tab. Missed the block? Email us at megmarkmac@gmail.com with hotel preference (The Gwen or The Sheraton Grand) and room type (one king or two queens) and we will see if we can help you.

Question

The hotel doesn't have any rooms left. What do I do?

Answer

Email us at megmarkmac@gmail.com with hotel preference (The Gwen or The Sheraton Grand) and room type (one king or two queens) and we will see if we can help you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to venue limits, we are restricting children to only first cousins of the bride and groom.

Question

I'm in town for the weekend. What do you recommend?

Answer

We love the Chicago Architecture Foundation Center Evening River Cruise. It's great for visitors and locals alike. If the weather is nice, take a stroll along the Riverwalk. We love enjoying a comedy show at The Second City or Zanie's, too. Chicago is also known for music so check out a show at The Zebra Lounge or Kingston Mines.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, we are registered on Zola.com, which aggregates our registry on Crate & Barrel, along with other items from various stores.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Please take a look at the "Schedule" tab. We are looking forward to celebrating together at a White Sox game on Sunday.

Question

Will there be transportation from the reception to the hotel at the end of the night?

Answer

Yes, we will have a shuttle taking multiple trips from the reception (Fairlie) back to the hotels. This will be the only guest transportation provided.

Question

I got my invite a little late. What bothers?

Answer

Sorry, COVID delays and the wedding boom doubled the production time, and some invites had an issue that required reprinting. You were on our A-list, promise.

Question

Where is the Bride getting ready?

Answer

Meghan will be getting ready at The Gwen. The couple will be staying there, as well.

Question

What has it been like planning a wedding during a pandemic?

Answer

No comment. ;)

Question

Is it an open bar?

Answer

Obviously.

For all the days along the way
