You can find the shuttle schedule for Friday and Saturday at this link: https://bit.ly/2Lt1dkl Please be in front of your hotel at the appropriate time!!
We will be outdoors on grass. Pointy heels do not like grass. There will be a wood dance floor so we can boogie!!
Bring a jacket/wrap. We will be next to the ocean and it can cool off by several degrees when the sun goes down. As of Sunday, May 12, there's also a chance of rain.
Not black-tie but not jeans and sneakers. Wedding clothes.
The twisty drive can be intense for first-timers (and even those who are familiar with the road). Allow for enough time to drive carefully, use the pull outs, and take pictures of the breathtaking scenery by pulling fully off the road.
You will not have cell reception in Big Sur. There are a couple of specific spots of service along the 90-mile stretch of Big Sur but do not count on them for GPS, arranging to meet, or tracking down lost friends & family as if you are in a city.
Hotels will have wifi.
If you are staying in Big Sur, should you forget some detail, the option to “run to the store” is not available. A quick trip to town can take 2 ½ hours in traffic. There is a general store at Big Sur Lodge with food, hygiene, and sundry items.
While we love spending time with children, we want our guests to have fun eating, dancing, and having a few drinks. We would also like guests to have a stress-free night — the ceremony and reception site are located on cliffs that plunge straight into the Pacific and we'd prefer children stay safe and sound elsewhere. Children are welcome at Friday's welcome party and Sunday's brunch bites.
A car is needed in Big Sur. If you prefer to carpool with another party renting a car, please let us know and we will try our best to help!
Check our travel page for a list of airports. Fly into whichever one fits your location, schedule, and budget. You will need to rent a car from any airport to get to Big Sur.
No. We will have a shuttle running between Big Sur hotels and Anderson Canyon on the day of the wedding so everyone can enjoy themselves! If you stay in Carmel/Monterey, the shuttle will need to pick you up very early and drop you off very late.
Unfortunately, there is no parking available at Anderson Canyon.
Each room has one parking spot so please keep this in mind if you are sharing rooms. If you use more than one spot per room, we'll get a ticket (and we don't want tickets). If you need to have two cars, please chat with the Lodge reservation person.
Of course! The shuttle will pick guests up at hotels in Big Sur. Unfortunately, if you stay in Monterey, you'll have to leave really early or really late depending on the final shuttle schedule.
As soon as possible. Big Sur only has three semi-affordable options (Glen Oaks, Big Sur River Inn, and Big Sur Lodge). Note that you'll need to take a shuttle to the ceremony and reception so please stay at hotels in Big Sur or Carmel/Monterey.
