Things To Do

We left a few gaps in the schedule to give our friends the chance to catch up in smaller groups during the weekend (and, honestly, to cut back the wedding planning!) We are still getting to know this part of NJ, but I think these places to eat, drink and hike look fun. If you check them out, definitely let me know what you think!

Buttzville Brewing Company

30 East Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882

Brewery with both indoor and outdoor space 12 minutes North of the farm.

Voorhees State Park

251 County Road 513, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826

State Park 10 minutes South East of the farm with a moderate 5 mile loop hike. To get there, you go right through Woodglen (so you could pick up deli sandwiches on the way).

Woodglen General Store

549 East Hill Road, Califon, NJ 07830
, (908) 980-3354

This deli looks like a good option for sandwiches to go. It's 5 minutes East of the barn, right on the route to Vorhees State Park. Open 7am-3pm and 5pm-8pm; closed on Sundays.

The Inn at Glen Gardner (Restaurant)

161 Main Street, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826

This restaurant is right on off Route 31 when you take the exit for our farm. The building is charming and it's located right by a stream. It looks like a unique, upscale spot with good food.

The Real Deal BBQ

2017 New Jersey 31, Clinton, NJ 08809

We've been eyeing this BBQ truck off the side of Route 31. It does look like "the real deal."

El Patron Mexican Restaurant

2014 New Jersey 31, Clinton, NJ 08809

This is one of the few restaurants in town that we've been to. It's a family owned and run Mexican restaurant that has big portions and hits the spot. It's 9 minutes south of the farm, right next to the entrance of the Spruce Run Reservoir.

Spruce Run Recreation Area

68 Van Syckles Road, Clinton, NJ 08809

State Park 10 minutes south of the farm with hiking and biking trails. Sadly, swimming is closed indefinitely due to harmful algae blooms.

Mt Tammany Red Dot Trail

Kittatinnies Region, Hardwick Township, NJ 07825

The Delaware Water Gap is 40 minutes North of the farm. The Appalachian Trail goes through the Worthington State Forest, where this trail is, so this hiking area is close to our hearts.

For all the days along the way
