The Rockies have a home series against Cincinnati around the time of the wedding. Feel free to catch a game if you have time!
The Highland neighborhood is very close to downtown, just across the South Platte River. There are lots of cool bars and restaurants in this neighborhood. Platte Street is a good street to check out, and Little Man Ice Cream is a good spot when it's hot outside.
The Dairy Block is a food hall/market downtown. Lots of neat places to check out.
The central market is a really cool food hall located on Larimer Street. You'll find several different places to eat inside. The part of Larimer Street that the market is located on is a place that we frequent. There are lots of cool bars and restaurants in this area.
City Park is a large park not too far from downtown. If you want some time outside without the commitment of going to the mountains, this is a decent option. Additionally, the museum of nature and science is located at City Park, as well as the zoo, and there are some good food options near the park.
Not too far from downtown and a great place to hang out.
Post Oak is a Texas style barbecue restaurant on Tennyson Street, which is in the Berkeley neighborhood. Post Oak is very, very good, and we would highly recommend it. Tennyson Street is also a cool street to spend time on as there are several other places on it.
Swanky's is a Wisconsin bar on Blake Street downtown. They've got food and beverages here. This part of Blake Street has lots of things to do.
Golden and Boulder are two cities in the Denver area that are accessible by car or public transit. They're both right up against the mountains, meaning there are some hiking opportunities. They're also both cool towns to hang out in.
You'll need a car and some time if you want to hang out in the mountains. There are several cool mountain towns within driving distance of Denver and lots of hiking. If you're traveling from out of state and want to hike, please keep in mind that you likely won't have much time to acclimate to the altitude, so don't go too hard on the hiking and bring plenty of water. Rocky Mountain National Park is about an hour and a half by car from Denver, but keep in mind you'll need to make a reservation for timed entry ahead of time.
