Meet Our Wedding Party (**Groomsmen info coming soon!**)

Beatriz Arechabala

Maid of Honor

Bea and Maritza met as Maritza started her very first year of teaching. Bea's first impression was that Maritza was very blunt... she (thankfully) decided to befriend her anyway! Fast forward almost 7 years full of laughs, hugs, tears, venting sessions, unnecessary but yet necessary shopping trips and regular manicure appointments, and here we are!

April Aguilera

Bridesmaid

Although April tried her hardest to "take care" of Maritza growing up... by terrifying her with horror movies and tricking her into doing crazy things or things April simply didn't want to do herself... April could not rid herself of her annoying little sister! Luckily, either Maritza became less annoying, or April just became more tolerant (we will never know!). Now Maritza and April actually enjoy each others company... WEIRD!

Crystal Aguilera

Bridesmaid

There is a reason why Crystal is being presented after April, although Crystal is the oldest of the sisters. The reason is this, Crystal is the reason why Maritza is currently alive and well enough to tell the tales of all of April's "great ideas" growing up. Maritza very likely would not have made it to adulthood, let alone her wedding day, if it were not for Crystal gently reminding April that she was not actually allowed to cause any serious injury or bodily harm. Thanks to Crystal, the dryer was turned off so that Maritza could get out. Thanks to Crystal, Maritza had a blanket to shield her eyes during the scariest parts when April insisted they watch Chucky for the millionth time. Thanks to Crystal, all three sisters will now live to celebrate on our wedding day!

Amanda Weaver

Bridesmaid

Amanda and Joe are thick as thieves... even though word on the street is that Amanda used to pick on Joe until he was able to hold her off with his wrestling moves without breaking Dads rule about not ever hitting girls. As far as Amanda and Maritza go, a better sister-in-law scenario couldn't even be dreamed up! Maritza found in Amanda an instant friend, sister, and overall role model (Amanda is also an amazing teacher, is great at giving suggestions and advice, and is a phenomenal mommy too!).

Stephanie Dimino

Bridesmaid

Three things to know about Maritza and Stephanie's friendship. 1) Awkward picture opportunities are their favorite. 2) Bagel bites are the correct way to end any night of drinking and dancing! 3) Everything and anything can be funny, especially if it involves booties, unicorns, penguins, poop, or any combination of the aforementioned topics.

Kayleigh Mentnech

Bridesmaid

You know how they say opposites attract... that is exactly how the friendship between Kayleigh and Maritza came to be. Between Kayleigh's struggle to "adult" and Maritza's aptitude for "adulting" (at the college level anyway...), a beautiful and truthfully outrageous friendship was formed! Side by side they conquered long block classes... sometimes sober... and dominated student teaching until finally crossing the graduation stage together (with their roles reversed, Kayleigh was the adult that day as Maritza was deathly hungover). Years later, and states apart, they have maintained the balance of being able to lean on each other in true times of need (or when just wanting to vent about their experiences as teachers) and sharing details about the momentously happy events in life!

Jamee Flowers

Bridesmaid

Maritza started off her friendship with Jamee in much the same way she did with Bea. Except to make matters more interesting, within the first week of meeting, Maritza offered Jamee (a vegetarian) her chicken fingers. Jamee responded with some serious sarcasm... thus sealing the bond of their friendship! Jamee and Maritza went on to teach on the 1st grade team together for 4 years before each of them took on different positions. Over the almost 7 years of knowing her, Jamee has been instrumental in Maritza's growth because Jamee is an amazing model of true and unyielding friendship as well as human compassion. Add in the fact that a hug from Jamee is pretty much the cure for all that could be bad in the world and it is honestly impossible not to want to be friends with her!

Tori Meyers

Bridesmaid

Growing up, Tori was the little sister Joe definitely needed whether he knew it or not. It all started when Joe was a life guard and Tori was "that" kid, always egging him on to goof off and at times getting sent to "the bench" for breaking pool rules. Being around Tori and Joe you would not believe that they are not actually brother and sister. Mostly because they know exactly how to bug the crap out of each other and get away with it! But if you ask Joe, and anyone who knows him well, Tori is his "little sister". These two are always there for each other no matter what. These two will probably still be bickering, pinching each other, and giving each other dead legs well into their old age!

Jennifer Alicea

Bridesmaid

Joe and Jen met in Kindergarten and have been friends ever since. At times they will go months without hearing from each other, but when they do, it is like no time has passed! Both Joe and Jen are self-proclaimed fatties who love to explore and find new yummy foods and desserts to try. Emphasis on the desserts! Jen has always been good about kicking Joe's butt in gear and getting him to have fun instead of being a couch potato! Now when they get together, Jen and Joe do their best to expand Maritza's horizons in the yummy foods and desserts department!

Brad Richie

Best Man

April 16 2010, the day after my 21st Birthday I woke up to a text on my phone. 1st thought was why am I on the air conditioning unit behind my house? 2nd was who is ‘Joe’ and how did he get my number? Thinking it was the raven haired Sicilian god I met the previous weekend (later known as Mike Grano), I anxiously respond and agree to drag my hungover self to the liquor store to buy ‘Joe’ a bottle of gin. Disappointment struck when it was a skinny blonde with a hollister shirt and peach fuzz that showed up an hour later, but a deal was a deal. 10 years later that skinny blonde is now jacked, a connoisseur on canned wine and proud to call me a best friend..... and i guess the feeling is mutual. Proud and honored to stand next to Joe as we finally make him someone else’s responsibility.

Z Fitru

Best Man

He is known as Prince of Wakanda or Black Panther in his unit. But in this group he’s the hero without powers, Sam aka Falcon. The room will get dark but he will brighten the room with his shiny white teeth when he walks in. Don’t let this 15 years of friendship fool you in thinking it has a happy beginning. They met in sophomore year of high school when Joe was blocking Z, a child of God, from getting to his seat. Things escalated when they both joined the wrestling team and had to fight for the same weight class. It was a brutal and bloody match that’s been lasted 6 minutes. Joe lost a tooth and Z had a bloody nose. But in reality, the match lasted one round as Z pinned him and won his weight class. 15 years later Joe has saved Zs life more times than the hairs on Cruz’s back.

Mike Grano

Groomsman

It started like any other day for me and Kyle back in 2009...with a hangover. We had just dragged ourselves down to ray street to help a friend move in. Ironically he did the best thing someone could do for people in our situation...he offered us a beer. Ironically it would be the last time he tried saving our lives because for the past ten years all he’s tried to do is kill us. All the late nights, the chasing him around Newark(literally), the 100 proof gin...oh the gin. He’s only ever said one thing...”we chose this”. We did chose this and life has been better for it I’m sure you’re not wondering “who’s this guy” but I’m going to tell you anyway. Cruz and I look a like except I have the magnificent eyebrows(you’ll see). Also all groomsmen will offer stories for drinks. Let’s get weird.

Joe Cruz

Groomsman

Move in day 2009 in the Ray street dorms. A disheveled looking blonde dude with an innocent look on his face in the corner. That look would later mean trouble for us. After the move a meek voice calls out “So you guys want a beer?”. That’s the point I knew we would be friends. Little did I know that I would lose me name to this man to only be known by my last name. Even by own mother. Throughout our time as friends he has more than earned the nickname the joker. “Some guys just want to see the world burn” should be tattooed on his back. It’s been a whirlwind 10 years and I’ve only regretted befriending him a handful of times. To be honest I’m glad to stand up there with one of my best friends on this special day and I couldn’t be happier for him. Good luck Mo. Don’t trust the smile

Steve Miller

Groomsman

I'm a vicious, carb cutting phenomenon known as God's gift to Delaware. When I met Joe in 2010 or some year that I can't remember from all the tequila and rum that was consumed, he called me a hillbilly at Mike Grano's house. I'd like to say we've been friends ever since, but truth is I cringed every time I was made aware he'd be joining our wolfpack for a night of festivities. Fast forward 9 years and through couples counseling and plenty more tequila and rum, we've become extremely close friends. When you look at the altar in the July heat and you're wondering which one I am, if you look at the best looking guy up there, all you have to do is move your eyes 2 places to the right and there I'll be. And no, I'm not Jesus, I'm his older brother, Steve Blackout Blewett Miller.

Mark Malloy

Groomsman

Here are the quick and dirty facts: He’s a terrible liar and an excellent +1. You can usually find him managing his investments, hitting the gym, or catching up with a friend over protein shakes and chicken. He’s incredibly judgemental…when it comes to T-bone steaks. Otherwise, He’s pretty easygoing. What he’s doing with his life When he’s not in the ER, you can often find him visiting the kind of far flung destination that requires a passport. Remote locations like Santiago or Zanzibar have always spoken to him. But usually it’s in Spanish or Swahili…so he can’t understand a word they’re saying. “Our go-to guy for fashion advice” – GQ “I wish he was my personal trainer.” – The Hulk “God made him so firemen would have a hero” – every fireman ever

Kyle Thomas

Groomsman

It was a sunny day in late August at the Ray Street student apartments. Joe Clark walks into his room to meet his new roommate and unpack his belongs, fortunately for him, he found much more than that... On one of the beds laid a pale, blonde, semi-athletic and extremely hung over friend of a friend whom Joe would immediately offer a beer. That random act of kindness was the beginning to a friendship that would go on to withstand the test of time (only 10 years so far, but plenty more in the future), distance, and many drunken nights. I'm frequently asked if I'm related to Will Ferrell or fellow groomsman Steve Miller. And for anyone looking for me up on the alter, I'm almost guaranteed to be the one sweating through my suit due to the extreme heat.

Bobby Rosen

Groomsman

Handsome and dashing, Bobby brings his quick wit to every conversation which makes him the perfect choice for a groomsmen. Bobby and Joe have been friends since elementary school. Well they didn't start that way. Lots of roughhousing on the playground and insults slung back and forth until their mothers happened to become best friends and forced Joe and Bob to be best friends too. From there they bonded over their nerdy hobbies such as video games, dungeons and dragons, and Japanese cartoons. All these years later Bobby and Joe still bond, but mostly over sending each other shirtless pictures of each other. Friendships can happen in interesting ways and I'm so glad our moms forced us to hang out. Love you buddy. Was this supposed to be in third person?
