They were chosen by them because they have set such a beautiful example of a faith-filled marriage. Marissa and Jordan have been blessed by their support through many milestones throughout their lives and relationship and are eternally grateful.

Keturah has become one of Marissa's closest friends since college. They met at CBU as they found themselves in the same dorm hall freshman year. From hall-mates, to roommates, to long distance besties; Marissa could not be more grateful for this God-given friend. Both Marissa and Jordan will forever be grateful for all the wonderful memories and people that they have met because of Keturah.
Myles Thompson
Best Man
Myles and Jordan met in 2012 in High School. They hit it off right away during Summer Camp Football and have been tight ever since. Myles and Jordan got really close during Track Season where Myles was a sprinter and Jordan was a thrower. Through the highest of highs and lowest of lows, Myles and Jordan have always been there for each other. Jordan has proudly watched Myles start a beautiful family within the last couple of years and is so excited to continue to watch his growth over the years to come.

Sammy and Marissa have been friends since freshman year of high school! These two knew from the moment they met that they would be life-long friends. Marissa and Sammy only grew closer over the years and have made so many memories together. Sammy is such a blessing to Marissa and she could not be more grateful to have her by her side not only on the big day, but thorough life!
Ivan Hernandez

Ivan and Jordan met in 2013 going through the halls of Yorba Linda High. Ivan was intrigued by Jordan’s origin story and became friends from there. Their friendship grew immensely after Marissa and Jordan began dating. Through the many laughs and tears shared all over the world together, Jordan is excited for the next adventure and the memories to be made in the future.
Juliana Hernandez

Juliana is one of Marissa's younger sisters. While they are four years apart, these two have grown up to be very close to one another. Juliana made Marissa a big sister and she could not be more grateful to know and love her. She has grown be be such a beautiful person and she is so grateful to have such a strong bond and relationship with her.
Adrian Mendoza

Jordan and Adrian met over FaceTime in 2018 through his wife Keturah while Adrian was stationed in North Carolina. Adrian is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and was a K9 Handler for the Military Police. Adrian’s go get em attitude drew Jordan in, along with the passion he has for the people and activities that he loves. Jordan is excited for the many new experiences and adventures that he’ll get to spend with Adrian.
Jacquelyn Hernandez

Jacquelyn is Marissa's youngest sister. While Jacquelyn was very much a surprise, Marissa along with the rest of her siblings can attest the pure joy jackie brings to the family. There is never a dull moment with her. She is one of the funniest people ever and Marissa couldn't be more blessed to be her older sister.

TJ is Jordan’s brother. TJ and Jordan met in 2010 when TJ came home for the first time. Jordan is uber proud of TJ for stepping out of his comfort zone when called on and out of the family norm and doing so with immense pride. The young man that TJ is developing into is one that Jordan is blessed to have as a brother. TJ is currently a Freshman at El Dorado High School in Placentia, CA and is a clarinetist for the Golden Hawks Marching Band and a Cellist for the Hawkestra.
Jessica Garcia

Jessica and Marissa met in 2021 where they became roommates! Jess and Marissa instantly became close. They made such fun memories while sharing their apartment at CBU. This friendship is one that flourished exactly when it was intended to and Marissa will forever be grateful for God blessing her with Jessica.

Tommy and Jordan met at the Us In the Son Summer Camp and developed their friendship throughout the years. Tommy’s attitude towards life is always outwardly positive and has such a loving demeanor to those around him. Jordan knows that there is much to learn from Tommy and is excited for their friendship to continue to grow.
Shannon Jansen

Shannon and Marissa grew very close as they both met at Us in the Son Day Camp. While they never worked on staff together, they grew close to each other as our UITS family grew and began to hang out outside of the program. From then their bond grew so much more. Marissa is so grateful for Shannon’s friendship and can’t wait to experience many more milestones and memories together.

Ben and Jordan “met” in High School where Ben was a distance runner (RIP) and Jordan was a thrower. Their true friendship started grew exponentially in 2019 during Ben’s time as a Director for the Us In the Son Summer Camp. Ben currently is Jordan’s sponsor in the RCIA program where Ben supports Jordan in his journey to become Catholic. Jordan is blessed to have Ben in his corner and can’t wait for more cigar and whiskey nights in the future.
Lauren Borak

Lauren had been in Marissa’s life since sixth grade! These girls were practically inseparable. Marissa and Lauren brought their families close together and have gone on so many amazing trips together throughout the years. Lauren is also the reason why Jordan and Marissa are together! She stopped Jordan in the trainer’s office after practice one day just to encourage him to ask Marissa to his Senior prom and the rest is history. Both Jordan and Marissa are forever grateful for Lauren!
Tegan Lambert

Tegan and Jordan met in 2024 at Law Enforcement Academy in Georgia. Their friendship started when Tegan stood in the wrong place in formation and Jordan followed suit. Their bond grew strong throughout their time at the academy. Through the tough days and long studious nights, Jordan knew Tegan was one of the few people he knew he could rely on when needed. Tegan is a Combat Engineer in the United States Army and is currently a reservist after 6 years of Active Duty. Jordan is excited to see where this new road takes him and Tegan and is excited to see what the future holds for Tegan.

Cure and Marissa met for the first time in 2020. Cure is one of Jordan’s cousins who Marissa immediately hit it off with. Cure has always shown Marissa so much love and support throughout the years. She has proven time and time again that she will take Marissa’s side over Jordan’s every time LOL. Marissa is so grateful for Cure and is very blessed to have her stand by her side.

Oso and Jordan met in 2006 when she came home after being born. Since the beginning, Jordan felt a special quiet bond between them. Jordan has watched Oso grow from afar, mainly killing it on the Rugby Pitch. Jordan is greatly proud of the strong and wise young woman that Oso has become. Oso is currently a scholar athlete studying Sports Medicine at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Cardiff, Wales.

Marissa found it extra special when they got the chance to work together at Us in the Son Day Camp after high school. From spending everyday at work together, to long distance friendship; Jo continues to show up for Marissa and Jordan in any way she can. (Even from 2,200 miles away). Marissa will always cherish her friendship with Jo and is so grateful to have her as part of her big day!
