If you're planning to spend some time in downtown Charleston, King Street is a must! It is the heart of Charleston's vibrant shopping and dining scene, and it's just a short stroll from many of the city's historic landmarks. Whether you're a shopaholic, foodie, or history buff, there's something for everyone here!
Shem Creek is a local favorite in Mount Pleasant, just across the bridge from downtown Charleston. It's known for its waterfront restaurants, lively bars, and gorgeous marsh views- perfect for grabbing drinks or dinner while watching the boats go by (and maybe even spotting a dolphin or two!).
If you're looking for a beach day while you're in town, Sullivan's Island is a beautiful spot just a short drive from Charleston and Mount Pleasant. It's laid back and less crowded than some of the other beaches, with wide sandy shores, calm waves, and amazing sunsets. After some sun, head to the main street for great local eats- one of our favorites is The Obstinate Daughter with The Beardcat Sweet Shop right below it for some dessert!
One of our favorite ways to enjoy the Charleston area is by going on walks- and we have a few go to spots we love! - The Ravenel Bridge offers incredible views of the city and harbor. The walking path stretches across the entire bridge and is perfect for a breezy stroll (or a scenic workout!). - The I'On Neighborhood in Mount Pleasant is one of our favorite peaceful escapes. We love wandering through its quiet streets, admiring the beautiful homes, and walking along the canals. - Hampton Park is a gorgeous green space in downtown Charleston, full of oak trees, flowers and shaded paths. It's a great spot for a laid-back afternoon walk or even a picnic. If you're looking to explore and unwind, these spots are perfect for soaking in the beauty of the Lowcountry!
