Enjoy a nice walk in this cute coastal city and hopefully spot some Sea Lions (and maybe their pups!) at The Children's Pool at La Jolla Cove.
The best coffee ever!!!!!! We're here within an hour of landing in CA almost every time :)
If your version of Heaven on Earth is the same as Marissa's - then it's here at the dog beach in Del Mar. A stunning beach where people bring their dogs to run free and play in the ocean. If that's not your thing - there are loads of other beaches to visit: Fletcher Cove (site of our engagement photos!), Swami's Beach, Cardiff Sate Beach (a great spot to watch surfers), Moonlight Beach in Encinitas and many more!
Encinitas has a central street with shops, restaurants, and more! One of our favorites is The Taco Stand.
Because of the beautiful year-round weather and abundance of fresh produce available in the area, you can find a farmers market to go to almost every day of the week in North County San Diego! If you want a slow, morning-after-wedding activity you can head up to the Vista Farmers Market on Saturday morning, or checkout others during your trip - Solana Beach, Pacific Beach, Carlsbad, La Jolla, and Little Italy in San Diego to name a few.
Aaron has turned Marissa into an avid biker throughout their relationship, and is something they enjoy doing on their vacations to San Diego! Biking down the coast on Highway 101 is a core memory; you should try it!
Some of our favorite local trails are Annie's Canyon Trail right in Solana Beach and several trails in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. There are lots of inland trails as well!
The name speaks for itself :)
Just a short drive inland are plentiful stunning views and beautiful wineries! Mia Marie is one of our favorites.
One of the only places to see Giant Pandas in the US; there is also a Safari Park where you can see some impressive animals up close and personal!
One of the 3 locations in the US, Legoland is close by if you are looking for a fun family activity. Aaron and Marissa have not yet been, although recently took up Lego building during some of their Philly winter snowstorms so that could change soon.
While you can find whale/dolphin excursions out of San Diego, Dana Point is another location ~45 minutes North of San Diego known for its wildlife.
Disneyland is only ~1.5 hours north of San Diego! Much smaller than what our Florida guests are used to with Disney World, consider visiting this park if you are staying for the week! We have been there before in the fall and the decorations are adorable.
A day trip just a bridge away from downtown San Diego, a quaint island full of shops, restaurants, beaches and beautiful bay views. The historic Hotel Del Coronado has a delicious and famous Sunday Brunch.
A state park near downtown San Diego with playgrounds, BBQ areas and beaches to enjoy a family day.
