Daufuskie Island is accessible by ferry or water taxi, and transportation via the Haig Point ferry is included for all wedding guests. The ferry drop off point is at 10 Haig Point Circle on Hilton Head Island. The ferry departs Hilton Head 30 minutes after the hour, every hour until 11:30 PM. Ferry’s departing from Haig Point run 40 minutes after the hour, every hour until 11:40 PM. The ferry ride is approximately 30 minutes and is wheelchair accessible. Private water taxis are also available.
For guests who are traveling by plane, we recommend flying into Hilton Head Island Airport, which is 12 minutes from the ferry embarkation point. Savannah International Airport is a 45 minute drive from the ferry embarkation point.
Cars are not permitted within the Haig Point community, but you can drive a golf cart, bike or walk! Golf carts are provided for all homes rented through Haig Point. If you are in a house with 4+ guests, additional golf carts can be provided upon request. If you are not staying on Daufuskie, the ceremony and reception sites are only a short walk from the ferry drop off/embarkation point, and golf carts will also be available to transport you to and from! We highly recommend the Apple Maps app to help you navigate while exploring Daufuskie!
Yes! There are several options within Haig Point, and additional options on the rest of the island. Within Haig Point, the Strachan Mansion has grab and go breakfast items and snacks, as well as Starbucks coffee. You can also dine at the Calibogue Club. Please see our “things to do” page for more information on restaurants on Daufuskie!
There is not a grocery store on the island, however, Instacart delivers to Daufuskie! Groceries will be delivered to your front door. Please visit www.instacart.com to place an order. We would suggest ordering in advance, to avoid any potential delivery delays.
All wedding guests who choose to stay on Daufuskie will stay in Haig Point. Haig Point has an expansive home rental program and all homes rented through Haig Point will come with a golf-cart. Guests can also stay on Hilton Head Island. Two separate room blocks have been reserved.
