If you’re in search of a fun and memorable experience, Zootastic Park is the perfect place! 🦒 They offer an incredible variety of wildlife that you can not only see, but actually interact with. My personal favorite is the giraffes—you can pet and feed them, and they’re not shy at all! You’ll also get the chance to see the newest zoo babies, feed a tiger, and take part in a wide range of animal encounters. I’ve had the opportunity to meet an armadillo and a baby kangaroo, which was such a unique experience. Plus, the drive-through safari lets you feed animals right from your vehicle—making it even more unforgettable!
Morrow Mountain State Park
Looking for a beautiful mountain drive—especially in the fall? 🍂 Morrow Mountain State Park is the perfect spot! Just about an hour from Mint Hill, NC, it offers a scenic drive to the top with breathtaking overlooks, plus plenty of hiking and horseback trails to explore. It’s also a great place to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature. For the car enthusiasts, weekends often bring out an awesome car and motorcycle scene, with Sundays being especially popular. 🚗🏍️ Whether you’re after views, trails, or just a peaceful picnic, Morrow Mountain has a little something for everyone!

Hungry—or maybe just in the mood for a good drink? 🍔🍹 Dunwellz Custom Kitchen & Pour House is the spot! Their food is always incredible, and the drink menu never disappoints. Honestly, I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly, the service is top-notch, and they even have a new-age jukebox where you can pick your own music. 🎶 It’s the perfect mix—a family-friendly restaurant that also offers great drinks for those who want to unwind. If you haven’t tried Dunwellz yet, you’re missing out. Definitely stop by—you won’t regret it!
Rocky River Vineyards
It’s wine o’clock! 🍷 One of my favorite vineyards to visit is Rock River Vineyards. They offer an incredible variety of wines—including refreshing wine slushies—and the setting couldn’t be more charming. A beautiful barn sits among the vines, often used for weddings and special events, while plenty of seating lets you relax and enjoy a glass (or a whole bottle) of your favorite. Personally, I’m a big fan of their Moscatos. With fall on the way, I’m especially excited for their seasonal winter edition, Frosty—a crisp Moscato that comes in a stunning blue bottle. (Fun fact: those bottles are perfect for making a wine bottle tree!) Beyond the wine, their gift shop inside the wine bar is full of cute finds, including unique items from local businesses. Whether you’re here for a tasting, a bottle to share, or just a cozy afternoon in the vineyard, Rock River is a must-visit. Wine not stop by? 😉
