What airport should i fly into?

Answer

Please fly into Palermo Airport (PMO). It’s only about 15 minutes from Terrasini and the easiest option. We recommend avoiding Catania, which is much farther away.

Should i rent a car?

Answer

if you’re staying in Terrasini for the wedding events, you do not NEED a car, but we recommend one. If you plan to explore more of the amazing island of Sicily before or after the wedding, renting a car can be very helpful!! (Carpooling with others from the wedding is an option as well)

Are taxis available from the airport?

Yes! Taxis are available at Palermo Airport.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in Terrasini so everyone is close to the wedding events and celebrations. It’s a beautiful seaside town with restaurants, beaches, and a lively town square. (If you are family, contact Tami for villa details. If you are a friend, contact Marisa for villa options!)

What should i wear to the wedding?

Answer

Dress as you wish, think Italian beach wedding. Light, breathable fabrics are best. August is hot! Even though the wedding will be in the evening, it doesn't get cool down much at night.

Will it be hot in Sicily in August?

Answer

Yes, expect summer heat! We recommend light breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and staying hydrated. Sicily is hot even in the evenings, but it’s good to pack a sweater incase of wind. Sicily is not very humid, it’s a dry climate so that helps!

Are the wedding events outdoors?

Yes, all events are outdoors or partially outdoors, so dress comfortably for warm weather.

Do people speak English?

Answer

Some do, especially younger people, but many locals speak Italian only. But don’t worry! Sicilians are incredibly warm people and welcoming, and will help guide you! And, the Google translate app is very helpful!

Should i bring cash?

Answer

Yes, having some euros is helpful for small shops, taxis, and especially for street vendors. But almost every place accepts cards and tap to pay!

Will my phone work in Sicily?

We recommend an eSIM (cheapest and easiest option for internet and texting) or international plan though your carrier for data, maps, and messaging.

Any food tips?

Answer

Eat everything !! Sicily is known for incredible food!! Everything from handmade pasta, seafood, pastries, gelato, and Sicilian wine. Local sicilian foods Arancini, Panelle, Pasta alla Norma, Pesce Spada (Swordfish), Granita or Gelato WITH a Brioche), and Cannolis Sicilians eat what is in season, in the summer time their favorites are Eggplant, Tomatoes, Artichokes, Melons, Peaches, Figs, Almonds, Pistachios
