The Historic Center of Arraial d'Ajuda is a charming village just a 15-minute walk from the venue. Here, you can visit the Nossa Senhora d'Ajuda Church and explore colonial-era buildings. It’s a vibrant area with inns, restaurants, cafés, and craft shops, and it also offers panoramic views from Monte Pascoal.
The Mirante das Fitas, or “Ribbons Lookout Point,” is located just behind the historic Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Church. Known for its sweeping panoramic views, the lookout is adorned with colorful Lembrança do Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia wish ribbons—symbols of faith, luck, and devotion in Bahia. Visitors take part in the local tradition by tying a ribbon to the fence, making three wishes as they tie three knots. When the ribbon eventually falls away, the wishes are believed to come true.
Praia do Mucugê is one of the busiest beaches, but it’s conveniently located near the village center. It's a short walk from the venue and other hotels; however, you can expect larger crowds along with plenty of options for food and drinks. We suggest walking farther down the beach for the ultimate Bahian experience.
Praia de Taípe is another beautiful beach in Arraial d'Ajuda. It's a more secluded and remote option, known for its dramatic scenery and a small river. The beach is about 20 minutes away by car; however, scheduling a ride is easy if you're planning a day trip.
Rio da Barra is located at the southern edge of Arraial d'Ajuda, bordering Trancoso, another beautiful destination in Bahia. This beach is more secluded and is known for its winding rivers, where you can schedule a kayak tour and explore the area. You will need a car to reach Rio da Barra; it is about a 30-minute drive from the venue.
The Trancoso Quadrado is the historic main square of Trancoso, a charming colonial town in Bahia. The square is lined with colorful former fishermen’s cottages, now home to boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries. At one end is the iconic white Igreja de São João Batista (Church of Saint John the Baptist). You’ll need a car to reach Trancoso, as it’s about a 35-minute drive from the venue, but it’s one of our favorite parts of Bahia and definitely worth visiting. We can organize a trip for anyone who’s interested.
