Nos conocimos en la iglesia. Yo había hecho mis catequesis en el 2018 para entrar a la comunidad, y Mario las hizo al año siguiente. En julio de ese mismo año a su comunidad la unieron con la mía, y así comenzó nuestra historia como hermanos de comunidad. Aproximadamente dos meses después de que nos juntaron, empezamos a hablar más. Sin darnos cuenta, Dios ya estaba escribiendo algo más grande para nosotros. El 10 de septiembre de 2022 fue el día que comenzó nuestra historia de amor. Él había comprado entradas para llevarme a ver a mi cantante favorito. Era la primera vez que iba a un concierto y fue una experiencia inolvidable; canté todas las canciones a todo pulmón y disfruté cada segundo. Pero la noche aún no terminaba. Cuando el concierto acabó y nos fuimos al carro, con el corazón todavía acelerado por la emoción, me dio una cajita. Dentro había una pulsera con el símbolo de infinito. Luego me entregó una carta con algunas palabras, y al final decía que tenía que firmar si quería ser su novia. Y claro que firmé. Ese fue mi primer “sí, quiero”. Desde ese momento, comenzó nuestro para siempre. ♾️💕 —————————————————————————————————————————- We met at church. I had completed my catechism classes in 2018 to join the community, and Mario did his the following year. In July of that same year, his community was joined with mine, and that’s how our story began as brother and sister in the community. About two months after our communities were united, we started talking more. Without even realizing it, God was already writing something greater for us. September 10, 2022, was the day our love story began. He had bought tickets to take me to see my favorite singer. It was my first time ever going to a concert, and I had the best time—I sang every song at the top of my lungs and enjoyed every second. But the night wasn’t over yet. When the concert ended and we went back to the car, with my heart still racing from the excitement, he gave me a small box. Inside was a bracelet with the infinity symbol. Then he handed me a letter with a few words, and at the end it said I had to sign if I wanted to be his girlfriend. And of course, I signed. That was my first “yes.” From that moment on, our forever began. ♾️💕

Todo comenzó con mi decisión de pasar el resto de mi vida con Maria Isabel y de hacer la voluntad de Dios. El 10 de septiembre cumplíamos nuestro tercer aniversario de novios. Para que todo pareciera una cita casual pero especial, le dije a Maria Isabel que esperaríamos hasta el domingo 14 de septiembre para celebrar nuestro aniversario. La propuesta de matrimonio tuvo lugar por la mañana en Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Le dije a Maria Isabel que pasaríamos todo el día juntos y que visitaríamos varios lugares. Primero recorrimos el jardín hasta llegar al lugar exacto donde yo había planeado pedirle matrimonio. Gracias a mi hermano de comunidad, William Valenzuela, quien fue mi fotógrafo en ese momento tan especial, todo estaba perfectamente preparado. Todo fue tan natural y sencillo que Maria Isabel no sospechó nada. Cuando me arrodillé detrás de ella, sentí nervios, pero también la certeza de que Dios estaba conmigo. En ese momento le pedí matrimonio a Maria Isabel. Desde ese día, Dios nos ha ido preparando para nuestra vocación al matrimonio. ♾️💕 ———————————————————————————————————- It all began with my decision to spend the rest of my life with Maria Isabel and to follow God’s will. On September 10th, we were celebrating our third anniversary as boyfriend and girlfriend. To make everything feel like a casual but special date, I told Maria Isabel that we would wait until Sunday, September 14th, to celebrate our anniversary. The proposal took place in the morning at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. I told Maria Isabel that we would spend the whole day together and visit different places. We first walked around the garden until we reached the exact spot where I had planned to ask her to marry me. Thanks to my community brother, William Valenzuela, who was my photographer for such a special moment, everything was perfectly prepared. It all felt so natural and casual that Maria Isabel didn’t suspect a thing. When I knelt down behind her, I felt nervous, but I was confident that God was with me. In that moment, I asked Maria Isabel to marry me. From that day on, God has been preparing us for our vocation to marriage. ♾️💕
