We met in 9th grade at Marist, and our story began with an invitation to grab a snack from Eric’s locker. He promised to share if I came along, and that small moment became the start of a growing friendship From the very beginning, our connection came naturally. We shared laughs, long conversations, and general love for each other. During junior year, we went out to breakfast one morning and something shifted. We didn’t know it yet, but that day marked the beginning of a new chapter for us. By senior year, we decided to take a chance on something more than friendship. We went to homecoming and prom together, graduated side by side, and then started college in completely different places—Eric at Georgia College, and me beginning my freshman year in Valencia, Spain. Between classes and a six-hour time zone difference, we learned early on what it meant to prioritize each other, even from across the world. Eventually, I returned to school stateside, and we continued to grow together through long-distance, cheering each other on through every new season. Six and a half years later, Eric proposed in downtown Canton. On the way there, he played a playlist of our favorite songs. Then, in a quiet gazebo, he asked me to marry him. We celebrated afterward at our favorite restaurant, where Eric surprised me with an engagement party filled with our closest friends and family. We’ve shared so many versions of ourselves over the years—growing up, learning, and building a life side by side. Eric’s humor, steadiness, and strength are just a few of the reasons I can’t wait to call him my husband. We’re so excited to start this next chapter together and to celebrate with all of you.
