We wanted to share our love of New Orleans with all of our family and friends coming from across the country. The city is filled with delicious food, funky music, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. We guarantee it will be an experience!
Airport arrival/departure and transport to and from the wedding venue will need to be arranged by each guest. There are a variety of airport transfer services, taxis or Uber/Lyft. Guests can also rent a car if desired; however, parking within the city can be particularly difficult and often requires payment or permits. The French Quarter is most easily accessible by foot, if you are staying in one of the French Quarter hotels, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes if you plan on exploring!
In order to allow all guests, including parents, a night of relaxation, we have chosen for our wedding and events to be adults only.
We are requesting an unplugged ceremony so while you are welcome to have your cell phone on you, we ask that you put it on silent and please refrain from pictures during the ceremony. Our photographer will be sure to capture all of the important moments! You are welcome (and encouraged) to use your phones during the remainder of the wedding and share them with us via social media or messages.
The wedding ceremony and second line will be outdoors, and the reception will be indoors. In the event that the weather forecast calls for rain, our ceremony will be moved indoors, but we suggest umbrellas for the second line.
The weather in NOLA can be unpredictable! That being said, spring is in the air in March and it is a great time to visit. The weather is pretty mild with high temperatures in the upper 60s and lows in the 50s and a potential for light rain showers.
WHATEVER MAKES YOU FEEL FABULOUS (plus comfortable shoes)! New Orleans is a place to let your hair down and our wedding will be no different. Keep in mind that we will be dancing all night and then doing a second line parade to end the reception. Thicker heels or flats are perfect for walking on uneven pavement/cobblestone streets.
A cocktail style wedding means more focus on the PARTY! There will be no set dinner time and food will be available to guests throughout the entire reception. There will also be no assigned seating so be ready to make some new friends!
A second line is a parade traditionally arranged for weddings. Police lead the parade to ensure the route is cleared of vehicles and to allow the wedding party to dance through the streets as a brass band blares their tunes. There will be walking so comfortable shoes are recommended as the streets and sidewalks may be uneven. Guests will have favors to carry (and throw!) as well as a beverage to sip on, so plan to 'travel light'. The second line should take 30 minutes but the memories will last a lifetime! Feel free to use your phones to document the memories as you're the life of the party and travelers will stop to watch and sometimes even JOIN you! A good second line needs energetic guests and WE know YOU know how to party!
While we have tried to make our menu all inclusive to accommodate our vegetarian and gluten-free guests, if there are any special allergies or dietary requirements please feel free to contact us and we will be sure to take care of you!
New Orleans is a very touristy city, but just like any city, it is important to be aware of tourist traps and pick pockets. The people are very friendly and welcoming, but remember dark alleys are not your home!
