Best Man
Joe is Seamus’s older brother. Mariel remembers Joe being the “chaperone” one night at the Queally’s house; which looking back on now is funny since Mariel is usually the responsible one on Queally family vacations (except for that one time in Mexico… which Joe will probably bring up in his Best Man speech since it’s his favorite story). If you see someone behind the bar that doesn’t work at OceanCliff it’s probably him.
Groomsman
Liam is Seamus’s younger brother. Liam was 12 years old when Seamus and Mariel started dating. Liam remembers riding in the backseat of Mariel’s Toyota Camry since despite being younger than Seamus, she had her license first. Liam is the life of the party so he will likely be caught dancing the night away or playing DJ at the after party.
Groomsman
Chris and Seamus met in middle school when they were on the same baseball team. During college when Seamus was back home for an internship, he spent most of his free time in Rhode Island either visiting Mariel at Salve Regina or Chris at Roger Williams. They became roommates after college; the same year Seamus got Patches. Even though Chris is allergic to dogs, he is still one of Patches’s favorite people.
Groomsman
Rob and Seamus met when they were on the same team during recess at Cunningham Elementary School. They grew up playing sports, snowboarding, and skateboarding together. Rob was the reason Seamus and Mariel’s friend groups started hanging out and was there the night they met.
Groomsman
Other than family members, Seamus has known Pat the longest as the two were childhood friends and lived just a few blocks away from one another in Milton. Between school, sports, and growing up in the same neighborhood, the two were seen together more often than they weren't.
Groomsman
John is another high school friend of Seamus. The two have a tradition of attending the Dropkick Murphy’s concert on St. Patrick’s Day, a yearly tradition that is still alive and well. John has always had the most common sense of the group, and keeps us in check.
Maid of Honor
Kate and Mariel became friends in Girl Scouts in the early 2000s. With siblings the same age, their families also became close friends. Kate has a great eye for design and fashion. While shopping Mariel’s mother will often say, “would Kate buy it?” when they are questioning a piece. When Mariel had a slight suspicion that Seamus might propose on February 6th she called Kate quickly to get an approval on her outfit choice (just to be safe).
Bridesmaid
Carolyn is Mariel’s cousin on the Rattigan side. Only 7 months apart they grew up together either in matching outfits or with Carolyn wearing Mariel’s hand-me-downs. They spent holidays receiving the same gifts in different colors (and often times switching colors). Growing up in different states they counted down the days to their weekend visits, often meeting halfway at their grandparent’s house.
Bridesmaid
Isabel and Mariel met as toddlers on Hollis Street. Only a few months apart, their friendship has always been close- they even won the superlative: “Most Inseparable” in their 8th Grade yearbook. Isabel was there the night Seamus and Mariel met and was the one who gave him Mariel’s phone number. From diapers, to diplomas, to diamond rings… it’s fitting that Isabel and Mariel are getting married the same year and can start this next chapter together.
Bridesmaid
Hana and Mariel met on the first day of Kindergarten and were in the same classes all throughout Elementary school. Hana and Seamus met in high school when Mariel started dating him. The three of them had classes together too- including Spanish class with Señora Queally. When doing the class seating chart, she separated Seamus and Mariel and put Hana next to him instead.
Bridesmaid
Although Mariel and Erin met at Salve Regina, they only grew up a few miles apart from one another. As Mariel adjusted to college her freshman year, her mother suggested she reach out to the girl from Quincy to grab dinner at the dining hall. From there they became roommates and best friends. Mariel and Erin share a love for Newport and enjoy drives on Ocean Drive, catching the sunset and drinking wine from the Newport Vineyards.
Bridesmaid
Mariel met Corey as Chris’s girlfriend when he and Seamus were roommates in Brighton. The two girlfriends quickly became close friends as they planned double dates, couples vacations, and girl time while the guys went golfing. Mariel and Seamus are honored to stand by their sides as they become Mr. and Mrs. Glynn next year!
