We met in our hometown of Milton, MA during a snowstorm. Seamus accidentally hit me in the face with a snowball. It was an instant connection for us in that moment. We still celebrate December 19th.
We went from being high school sweethearts to a long distance relationship when Seamus attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. I went to Salve Regina University in Newport, RI the following year.
After both college graduations, we returned back to Massachusetts. On a weekend getaway in Newport, we decided we wanted to make it our home. We packed up and moved to Newport with our dog Patches in 2018.
On our way to an early Valentine’s Day celebration, Seamus suggested we walk by the water. He took me to King’s Park, which is one of our favorite spots with views of the Newport bridge, downtown shops, and Fort Adams. We have great memories kayaking, walking Patches, and watching sunsets here. Once we were on the white shell path, Seamus stopped and got down on one knee. Kings Park is now an even more special spot for us! We celebrated our engagement at Gurney’s Resort on Goat Island.
