Mariel was just starting out in her career as a Registered Nurse in the ICU. Neil, a Respiratory Therapist, came in to check on his patients and introduced himself. Through coincidentally working the majority of our shifts together, we bonded over many things - most importantly Star Wars and our kids.
We started dating in 2015 and rented a condo together the following year. In 2017, we found out we were expecting and gave birth to our son, Maddox, in January 2018- making Dylan and Makaela big siblings! After countless Vegas trips and even more pounds of weight gained, Neil proposed on the island of Oahu in 2019. We originally scheduled our wedding for August 2020, but of course postponed due to Covid. We decided to shift our focus & finances and purchased our first home in September 2020. After a year of both of us fighting on the frontlines, we're more ready than ever to finally have this wedding and get married. We're excited to finally have our family officially become a family (and nope, no more kids lol).
In light of the recent rise in covid cases, we’re updating the safety precautions for our upcoming wedding. We are requesting proof of full vaccination for each guest. We are asking those that are not fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to 8/21 to please test and forward us a negative result within 72 of our ceremony. Masks are also HIGHLY encouraged, especially for those that are not fully vaccinated. Ceremony and reception will be taken place outdoors. We understand that such request may seem unusual, but these are unusual times. We have both been fighting covid on the frontlines, and though we still want to have our dream wedding, we want to do so as responsibly as possible. If these requests have altered your choice of attendance, we completely understand and will miss the honor of your presence on our big day. Additionally, if you or a member of your household is feeling ill, regardless of vaccination status or test results, we kindly ask that you refrain from attending in order to keep our guests safe. You may text Mariel or Neil your vaccination status (ASAP preferably) or test result (within 72 hrs of ceremony).
