FAQs

The Wedding Website of Chris Jackson and Mariela Mendoza
We have engaged a wedding planner, The Party and Co (Karla Oropeza) is available to answer any questions you may have. The team has already contacted you via WhatsApp or email.
Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, we are arranging private transportation for all guests staying at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen Resort (family side). Pickup will be at 3:20 pm from the main lobby entrance. A bus will depart the wedding venue at 1:00 am to take guests back to the Paradisus Resort. If you would prefer to organise separate transportation earlier than 1:00 am, please notify our wedding planner, Karla Oropeza (+52 998 260 8220), so she can coordinate access through the venue gates, as entry is restricted. Karla and her team will be onsite on the wedding day and will be easy to identify. If you are not staying at the Paradisus resort, we recommend you leave early as the doors will open at 4 pm and the ceremony will start at 4:30 pm (No Latino/Peruvian time)

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We are staying at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen, which is an all inclusive resort. There are plenty of great Airbnb options around the area and other resorts. We highly recommend staying near by the wedding venue as the traffic can turn to be intense sometimes (one single road).

Question

Where can I have my hair and make up done for the wedding?

Answer

There is a hair salon at the Paradisus resort that offers those services. Please contact the resort directly to arrange an appointment. If you are staying outside the resort in Playa del Carmen, there are plenty of options around 5th Avenue.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, the schedule section of the website is updated with the most important events and activities (all optional). Please note that all dinners are happening at the Paradisus Resort and only guests can attend.

Question

Is the wedding in a resort?

Answer

No. For privacy matters we selected a private wedding venue in Playa del Carmen, Blue Venado Paamul. It has a private beach so no hotel guests will be crushing the wedding!

Question

Do you have any recommendations for transport?

Answer

We have done some research and engaged the following companies for different transport services. You could contact these companies to get a quote and mention you are part of the Mariela and Chris wedding group. Alles Playa Rogelio +52 984 216 2941 (whatsapp) Christian Oropeza (wedding planning team) +52 998 225 1317 (WhatsApp) Please do your own research and find the best deal that suits you. We also highly recommend checking the ADO website: https://www.ado.com.mx/ as is a bus company that offers affordable transportation from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen, Cancun and Tulum. Ubers are also available in the area, we recommend taking Ubers far away from the main taxi spots. WARNING: Taxi drivers (yellow/white cabs) are a mafia around Rivera Maya, please be aware of the scams. We advise guests to not take street taxis and call an Uber instead or arrange transportation in advance.

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

February is winter in Mexico, but the weather is still warm, with average temperatures around 28°C. Mosquitoes aren’t usually a big issue at this time of year, but it’s still a good idea to pack some repellent, just in case, especially at night. If you’re planning to visit a cenote or a water park, make sure to bring water shoes, they’re really important for safety, as the surfaces can be rocky and slippery. And of course… don’t forget plenty of sunscreen and maybe some ibuprofen for any post‑party headaches!

Question

Is there an area where the kiddos can rest at night at the wedding?

Answer

There is a bridal suite at the venue with air‑conditioning and a bathroom. If it gets late and the kids need a rest, they’re welcome to lie down there. Please bring an inflatable mattress or something similar to make them comfortable. The suite is inside the venue and very close to the dance floor. We also recommend bringing ear defenders and a mosquito net to put over the pram for the little ones.

Question

Is there a different meal for kids on the wedding day?

Answer

Yes, kids will enjoy a yummy Alfredo pasta.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please contact Karla Oropeza or the Party and Co, who is our wedding planner and let them know about your allergies. This needs to happen before the 17th of February.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, we’re not able to add anyone else at this stage (24/2/26). Our numbers are now final, and we haven’t had any last‑minute cancellations. This is a very intimate wedding, and we’ve invited only the people who mean the most to us and whom we truly love, so having each of you there to celebrate our day is incredibly important to us. We deeply appreciate the effort everyone is making to travel so far. It means the world to us. We feel so grateful, supported, and loved knowing that you’re all coming just for us. A destination wedding definitely comes with challenges, but we know it’s going to be so worth it and so much fun!

Question

When will I find out about the wedding timeline?

Answer

Our Wedding Planner will send you a copy via email or via Whatsapp prior the day of the wedding.

Question

Will roaming/internet work ok in Mexico?

Answer

We recommend buying an eSim card online, so you can have internet everywhere you go.
