Things To Do
Luray Caverns
Marie and I went here in 2019 and it was absolutely beautiful. While inside the cave it feels like you are on the set of a movie; we highly recommend making this a day trip. There is also a really cool car museum on the premises as well.
Hack and Hew LLC
We have not had an opportunity to come here but we ran into a couple at the vendor tasting and the groom works here. Take an afternoon and test your axe throwing skills here.
Natural Bridge
Marie and I came here back when we first started dating. It is an incredible hike and a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy God's creation.
Blue Ridge Parkway
Head to mile post 63.7 in Big Island VA to get onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Marie and I drove this after going to Natural Bridge and were blown away by the mountain views. Take a day or an afternoon to check out this amazing parkway.
Lexington
Lexington is a beautiful and quiet small town in Virginia. Here you can tour Stonewall Jackson's house, explore the cemetery that he is buried in, and check out Virginia Military Institute. There is also a great selection of small bakeries, restaurants, and small antique shops. Marie and I loved this town when we visited it.
The National D-Day Memorial
For all you history buffs out there; come check out the National D-Day Memorial. We have not had an opportunity to check this one out but we have heard amazing things about it.
Monticello
Come explore the house of our 3rd President, walk the Saunders-Monticello Trail, and enjoy food at the Monticello Farm Table. Tickets are required and can be purchased online; tours of the house are also available.
