FAQs

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

TBD. While we are hoping we will be able to have our ceremony and reception with masks optional but encouraged (when not eating/drinking), we are still waiting to make a decision on whether or not to mandate them. Public health guidelines have shifted significantly in the time that we've been planning our wedding, and we will update this page once we are closer to November 5th and can make a decision based on the most current data. While our wedding is intentionally small to reduce risk, regardless of whether or not we require masks for our ceremony or reception, we ask that you PLEASE wear a mask while traveling if you are taking a flight or train up to CT, to reduce the risk of picking up COVID en route to our wedding. We also ask that you take a rapid COVID test if you are feeling unwell at any point leading up to the 5th.

Question

What about vaccines?

Answer

Vaccines are non-negotiable. We don't think we have any anti-vaxxers amongst our guest list, but we really don't want to find out the hard way that we do. Several members of the wedding party, including the bride, are immunocompromised and/or immunosuppressed, and while all are quadruple-vaccinared, their medical status means those vaccines may be less effective for them. They and we are relying on you to ensure everyone can stay safe on our wedding day. ALL GUESTS MUST HAVE HAD BOTH DOSES OF MODERNA/PFIZER OR SINGLE DOSE OF J&J PLUS AT LEAST ONE BOOSTER TO ATTEND. We're not going to make you verify your vaccine status or upload your card, but please, help us out on the honor system here.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're going for semi-formal here, so cocktail dresses, floor-length dresses, suit or jacket + tie will all work. Please note that if weather permits, we are planning to have our (brief) ceremony outdoors. The average temperature in early November in Ridgefield is in the high 40s to mid-50s, so it should be pretty comfortable, but do plan to have a coat or additional layer on hand. The reception will be indoors regardless of the weather.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Friday, October 21st

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

See the tab on this website!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have hotel blocks! See the "travel" tab above.

Question

Can we bring our kid(s)?

Answer

If they're under 10, no. We don't have the space or capacity to make the event safe for kiddos who need constant supervision. That said, if you're one of our few invited guests with a preteen or teen, they are welcome to tag along - totally your call. There will be plenty of sober adults around, and beyond some likely profanity, our wedding should be appropriate for middle school age on up. We will try* to keep the swearing to a minimum! *We will almost certainly fail, but we'll try!

Question

How accessible is the venue for people with disabilities?

Answer

The Lounsebury House has two floors and an outdoor garden area. Weather permitting, our ceremony will be in the Garden and our reception will be held in the first floor of the House, both of which are accessible by ramps. (If weather does not permit, both ceremony and reception will be on the first floor.) In addition to the stairs and ramps, the House has a small, single-person elevator available. We ask that guests whom can safely use the other options do so in order to ensure disabled members of the wedding party, including the bride, can access the entirety of the House for setup/takedown.

Question

Is Maria Rose changing her name?

Answer

No. After November 5th, we will be known as Mr. Connor Carlson and Mrs./Ms. Maria Rose Belding. Please don’t refer to us as the Carlsons, because we’ll think you’re talking about Ann and Steve!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please email both MR (mariarose.belding@gmail.com) and Becca, our wedding planner (Rebecca@RS-Events.com)
