Stanley and Marian (Stanarian) have been farming in a regenerative organic fashion for 7 years. They focus on crop diversity and regenerating pasture and top soil. They do this with the help of cattle, sheep, chickens, and pigs, all of which eat and fertilize the pasture and garden. They produce 90% of what they eat and sell the extra at the Yellow Springs farmers’ market and to a few loyal CSA customers. Their wedding was postponed until they were producing enough to splurge on a big party and that time is now.
As the parents of the bride and groom, we thought it would be instructive to lay out some of what it takes to maintain this farm throughout the year. If you are so inclined, we invite you to play a role in regenerating prime Ohio farmland.
