Things To Do

Places to visit for first time guests!

The Gambia is a relatively small country so all of these recommendations are easily accessible via a 15-30 minute taxi ride. Here are our recommendations!

Makasuto Forest

Makasutu means ‘sacred forest’ in Mandinka. It is a beautiful, tropical 1000-acre reserve.

Katchikally Crocodile Pool

Located in the heart of Bakau, Gambia. It is home to Nile crocodiles which can grow up to 4.5 meters.

Kartong Snake Farm

The farm is a conservation area where you can see various reptiles such as snakes, turtles, chameleons, and various lizards.

Monkey Park

The monkey park is also known as the Bigilo forest park near Senegambia beach hotel.

River Gambia Boat Tours

There a range of companies that offer boat trips on the River Gambia which can include activities such as fishing.

Coco Ocean Spa

Visit Coco Ocean for a spa day, beach day or just to relax.

Beaches

There are loads of beaches in Kotu, Brufut, Cape Point, Sanyang and many others where you can get your rest and relaxation on!

Restaurants

Luigis Pizza and Pasta House

We both think that Luigi's makes the BEST pizza in the world! Our favorite is the Luigi's special.

Ngala Lodge

This restaurant is known for its spectacular views and great food.

The Butcher's Shop

This is our favorite brunch place in The Gambia. In addition to a full menu, they offer amazing desserts.

Calypso

Great weekend brunch spot with amazing views, a crocodile pool and a band.

3 Chicks & a grill

This place truly has the vibes as well as a delicious menu, drinks and shisha/hookah.
