Directions are provided at this link via the Flying L website. Feel free to follow these, or take our preferred route through Trout Lake: From Portland, travel East to Hood River on Interstate 84 and get off at exit 64. Cross the bridge into Washington and make a left on Highway 14. Travel West on Hwy. 14 for approximately 1 mile and turn right on Alt. Hwy. 141. Alt. Hwy. 141 winds its way up the Gorge for approximately 5 miles ending at Hwy. 141. Make a left onto Hwy. 141 heading North to Trout Lake. From Trout Lake Gas Stn. go RIGHT at the Y in the road onto Mt. Adams Rd. in 1/4 mile turn RIGHT onto Sunnyside Rd. this turns into the Trout Lake Highway. Follow this Hwy. for approximately 18 miles into Glenwood, Pass through the small town of Glenwood. Approximately 1/2 mile past Glenwood turn LEFT (north) onto Mt. Adams Highway. The Mt. Adams Lodge driveway is on your RIGHT in about 1/4 mile.
Travel Note
The venue is about 30-40 minutes from anything you might call a "city." Transportation is limited to personal vehicles. We will be finalizing alternative transportation options as we approach the wedding date. In the mean time, please email us with any concerns regarding transportation. MarMattForever@gmail.com
Travel Note
We'd love most if friends and family can stay at The Mt. Adams Lodge with us in Glenwood, but if we fill up the place or you'd like to stay in another location for any reason here are some options in Trout Lake, located 18 miles West of Glenwood. If you're looking for entertainment and night-life I recommend staying in either White Salmon, WA, Bingen, WA or Hood River, OR. You can also look for private homes and lodges for rent at www.airbnb.com near Glenwood and Trout Lake.
Hotel
More modern accommodations. Approximately 30 minutes from the wedding venue, 5 minutes to downtown Hood River and just over 1 hr. from Portland.
Hotel
Hood River is approximately 45 minutes from the wedding venue and an hour from Portland, OR, it is also my hometown and where we currently reside. We will be in Glenwood between 8-16 and 8-19, but if you plan on coming earlier or staying later, take a look at Hood River as a great vacation spot and we will see you around! If you'd like to spend the whole weekend closer to shopping, restaurants, and night life or feel a bit more pampered than the rustic woodsy experience, please take a look at Hood River Chamber of Commerce's website provided in the link here. You can find accommodations as well as tourism information for the area here.
House Or Rental
Similar to AirBnb, VRBO is a popular option if you want the "home away from home" vibe. There are lots of really nice houses in White Salmon and Hood River in particular, but feel free to search the Trout Lake or Glenwood, WA areas for lodgings closer to the venue. Again, we would love for family and friends from out of town to enjoy the Mt. Adams Lodge on 8/17 and 8/18 if possible but we understand the rustic woodsy appeal isn't for everyone! Our top priority is that everyone enjoy themselves and are comfortable during their stay. There's also some pretty "dope" houses you could rent as a group or family, make sure to invite us over!
House Or Rental
The Columbia River Gorge is an incredibly popular tourist destination. Half of the town of Hood River consists of vacation homes or vacation rentals. Check out AirBnb and search for either Hood River, White Salmon, Husum, Trout Lake or Glenwood and you will be within 45 minutes or less of the Mt. Adams Lodge. **Make sure you check a map before you agree to a rental. The country is expansive out here and if you aren't careful you could end up hours away from the wedding unintentionally.
