Fort Worth Stockyards Station
The Fort Worth Herd was established on June 12, 1999 to commemorate the cityโs early history, and has been under the management of Visit Fort Worth since 2010. The Herd consists of 17 longhorn steers, one steer for every decade since Fort Worthโs founding. Steers are led down East Exchange Avenue by a historically authentic, diverse team of drovers who represent Texas. The spectacle has captivated almost 20 million people since its inception. Twenty-five years of entertainment, education and enhancement of Fort Worthโs image as a cornerstone of the American West.
