MJ was playing pool at Beantown pub and was approached by a tall, wobbling (he was drunk) man who we now know as Ryan. He asked for her number and they went on a date the next week at the Bostonia. Sitting there at the bar MJ, charmingly, asked what song he would kill someone to. Alarmingly calm, he answered "All of Me" by John Legend. They later watched "Halloween" together and fell deeply in love, at the expense of MJ's car being towed.
