(free) Another, bigger park! This one is 1,300 acres and full of all sorts of things! Outdoor gym equipment, learning gardens, play grounds, paddle boats, bike paths--check, check, check, check, and check. Also home of a beignet joint.
(free) After Katrina this 60 acre plot was used as a forest experiment. Native flora are left to thrive and invasive species are eradicated. If you want a little taste of South Louisiana’s woodland, there are lots of winding wooded paths to explore here.

(free) The riverside portion of Audubon Park is known as the Fly, an almost-forgotten reference to the butterfly-shaped river viewing shelter constructed in the 1960s and later demolished in the 1980s.
(free, book in advance) An interesting collection of exhibits about the history of New Orleans. Exhibits currently up include one about the history of the French Quarter and a retrospective of art by a local, Acadian artist John Clemmer.
($0-$15) depending on age, sculpture garden free) A really delightful collection that could be a whole day perusal or just take in a few parts for a shorter visit. Current exhibits include West African stone monoliths, aluminium in design, Roman Catholic Art from Portuguese India, Jain Art from India, Edo-period art, an exhibit on orientalism, as well as contemporary collections and exhibitions. Advanced tickets required for the museum itself due to COVID; discounted admission for seniors, students, and children.
(in Marrero) (free) Barataria Preserve is part of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve run by the National Park Service across six sites. Throughout the whole park and preserve, there remain many closures including of bathrooms, parking lots, and visitors centers. In Barataria, some trails remain closed after damage from Hurricane Ida but the Bayou Coquille Trail is open as are the restrooms. The visitor center is closed but the parking lots near the visitor center are open.
(free) A wonderful park (and largest urban wildlife refuge in the country at 23,000 acres) about 30 minutes from the wedding venue. There are easy boardwalk paths through the preserve and an interpretive center with guides and materials for kids.
