How We Met

2015

It began on what seemed like an ordinary day at Glendale Community College, though destiny was quietly at work. Two lives, moving separately until then, crossed paths in a moment that would change everything. Nima spoke first, and with that single spark of conversation, the world seemed to shift. Their words flowed easily, as if they had always known each other. What started as chance quickly began to feel like home. From that day on, they were inseparable. Their love blossomed through small, tender moments: a first date over coffee at Starbucks, laughter echoing between sips; a hike up Camelback Mountain where, for the first time, their hands found each other and held on, as if they were meant to never let go. Years later, in the red rocks of Sedona—a place etched into their story as their very first trip together—Nima knelt down and asked the question that would forever bind their lives. On April 7th, 2024, surrounded by the beauty and stillness of the desert, a promise of forever was made. And so, when it came time to choose where to begin their new chapter, they turned to another place close to their hearts: Rocky Point. It was the first destination they had traveled to together beyond their own country, a place alive with warmth, joy, and memory. Now, it will forever be remembered as the place where love, once sparked on an ordinary day, was celebrated in the most extraordinary way—surrounded by family, friends, and the ocean that carried their story into forever.

A Love Between Two Worlds

Though we come from different cultural backgrounds—Nima being Persian and I, Mexican—our love has beautifully intertwined the richness of both worlds, creating something entirely our own. Both Sedona and Rocky Point hold deep meaning for us. They represent so many moments—laughs, adventures, conversations, memories, and dreams—that built our love and brought us here today. These places are pieces of our hearts, where we’ve shared and created chapters of our story that we hold so dear. It feels only right to begin our forever surrounded by that same feeling and love.

A Poem That Speaks to Our Souls

We’d love to share a Persian poem by Rumi that we feel beautifully reflects our love:

To us, that’s what it means to find your soulmate— “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” Two whole worlds, finally finding each other, and becoming one.
