Michelle and Maria met at a small apartment party in Chicago, 2 or 3 years before getting together. Over the years, they bonded over parties/shots (obviously), clothes shopping, roads trips, sports (volleyball), clubbing, and cheap foods (late night grabs) like normal platonic friends do. It wasn’t until summer of 2010 when Michelle and Maria got closer and learned that they had deeper connection beyond their hobbies and interests – that of each other. One summer night Maria would have eventually made the first move as her feelings grew stronger towards Michelle the more time they spent together. Meanwhile, Michelle was very oblivious to Maria’s numerous attempts to get her attention. Michelle picked up Maria every day that summer as they did their thing, every day, all day long. Although it wasn’t until that one special summer night when Michelle felt something differently as she left Maria’s house after biking together along Lake Shore Drive. Coincidently, that same night was the day Maria would finally reveal her feelings to Michelle. Late Thursday night, Maria felt undeniably compelled to be with Michelle and invited her over for wine night not knowing what to expect or say. As the warm night sunk in through the big windows of Maria’s Chicago condo, with the sound of the red line train running north and south every 15 minutes alongside her balcony, the two were sitting oddly closer together. Maria at some point inched even closer towards Michelle and softly whispered her melting truth of wanting to kiss her. The rest became forever since then. 7 years later, Maria got on her knee and asked Michelle to marry her.
