The Cookie Table

The cookie table is a time-honored Pittsburgh wedding tradition. At weddings all across Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania, there is a dedicated table (or tables) of homemade cookies brought by family and friends. While the exact origin of the cookie table is unknown, many believe that this practice began during the depression, since cookies require less flour and other ingredients than cakes.
As a tried and true Yinzer (a slang word for people from Pittsburgh), Maria is determined to have a cookie table at the wedding. If you would like to participate in the cookie table (which is certainly not required!), please contact Maria to coordinate! Thank you for sharing in this delicious tradition with us!
