Our Love Story

When you know…..you know!

In his junior year of high school (September 2018), Brenton moved from San Antonio, Texas to Pittsford, New York where he attended Pittsford Sutherland High School. September 4, 2019, I was entering my freshman year at Pittsford Sutherland high school. On the first day of school, I walked into the building and walked up the stairs… and that’s when I saw Brenton (then a senior). I saw him once before and was always captivated by his good looks. I actually hoped that somehow I would meet him once school started. Within a couple of weeks after school started, we would make eye-contact when passing by in the hallway or exchange glances, so I decided to add him on social media and he immediately added me back. A few weeks later, I took the next step and added him on snapchat. That evening, Brenton added me back and messaged me! That message turned into us talking to each other daily and every night. Brenton planned to go to the military after his graduation and did not want to get involved in a serious relationship. His plan was to date casually and not be tied down to anyone. With this in mind, there was a period of 3 weeks that we eased up on talking and Of course, I was heartbroken. By late October, Brenton came back into the picture and we picked up right where we left off. On Halloween night we spent hours texting each other and from then on, we talked every night. By November, our relationship started blossoming in the halls of Sutherland High School. On December 14, I was invited to go to Brenton’s house to meet his family and have dinner. It was becoming clear that feelings were developing between the two of us and we were “very special” to each other. Within a week of meeting his family, Brenton asked me if I would be his girlfriend. Brenton came over to meet my family a week later and from that point on we have been inseparable, spending every weekend (and then some) with each other. As his graduation day was coming closer, I knew our time together was precious because we didn’t know what the future held. I remember telling Brenton, when he left for the military I would wait for him because I couldn’t imagine him not being in my life. As spring approached, so did covid! The uncertainty of life at that time kept Brenton at home and delayed his plans for leaving. That extra time at home allowed our friendship and relationship to grow exponentially and it gave us time to build a foundation and a strong bond. As we plan this beautiful occasion, we don’t need to tell the rest of the story…..we both fell in love and Brenton did not want to live the rigors of military life, separated. I always said I would wait for Brenton but Brenton waited for me. I am so grateful that he unselfishly put his life on hold so we could have a chance. I always knew we had a very rare and special soulmate connection, right from the beginning of our relationship. We have been growing together and will continue to grow, now as a married couple. On May 28, 2023 and every day after, we know that we will be surrounded with love, prayers and support as we begin our beautiful journey together. ❤️
