Traveling to Merida
Flights
If flying from abroad, you can fly into Merida International and take an airport taxi to your hotel (many flights to Merida from the US will most likely have a layover).
You may find it cheaper to fly into Cancun International, from where you can take the Mayan train to Merida, which is accessible from the airport. Cancun is around 190 miles from Merida. Schedules for trains from Cancun to Merida are usually posted a few weeks before departure and can be found here: https://reservas.ventaboletostrenmaya.com.mx/
Generally, three trains leave from Cancun every day around 9:30am, 4:30pm, and 6:50pm. The train takes a little less than 4 hours to reach the station Merida Teya, where you can take an Uber or taxi to your hotel or Airbnb.
