Paul moved to Puerto Rico in 2016 and started working in the same hotel I was working... One day, on my way to work, I saw him walking towards the hotel and offered him a ride, he ran to the car and the only words out of his mouth were: “nice car” and “thanks for the ride”. Days passed and I mentioned to our boss that he was cute, so she started assigning Paul tasks that required working with me. Every day at work Paul was getting better at talking to me with longer sentences that included asking me about the movies that I’ve seen or whether or not I liked the color of the walls he was painting. I added him on Facebook and the next day we started messaging each other, after of course he wrote me first... On July 4th, he asked me out to the movies and we went to see Tarzan on July 5th, which was also the first time I saw him with his hair down. That night things were unclear to me when Paul left me at my house and hugged me good night, so then I thought well I guess I don’t have to worry about his hair then. But, he asked me out again to go ice skating, which I’m terrible at so when he kissed me, literally swept me off my feet because I fell on the ice. Time passed, and Paul made the decision to move back to Cedar Rapids but not before asking me to follow... I didn’t even think about it and said YES!
We traveled on September 25th, 2018 to the most magical place on Earth... Disney!!! Paul had been carrying the ring for days and suggesting long boring walks, trying to find the perfect scenario to propose but I said NO to all of them. Paul had no other choice than proposing the last day of our trip, September 30th, at Disney Springs... We were walking out of a store when I suggested to sit down to rest and when I turned around I saw Paul very sneakily talking with a guy. I thought there was a problem so I walked towards them saying: "WHAT'S GOING ON?", I didn't yell but apparently I used my serious voice tone. Turns out, Paul was asking the guy to help him with the proposal by waiting until Paul and I were at a fountain, then hand me a Disney's Pin "I'm Celebrating Getting Engaged" and say: "you dropped this" but my delicate voice tone made him panic and he gave it to me right away in the middle of a sidewalk. Paul tried to take it off my hands but it was too late and he didn't have another choice but to get on one knee. I blacked out, I don't know what he said or what I answered but guessing from the ring on my hand... I said YES to what I'm hoping was "would you marry me?"! Paul cried because it got botched and I cried too but only because he only made our dream come true.
