Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG)
When booking flights, we recommend avoiding layovers in Bogotá (BOG), as it is located further south and tends to be a very busy airport. The Old/Walled City is only a 15–20 minute drive from the airport. There will be plenty of taxis lined up when you exit the airport (the fare is approximately 20,000 Colombian pesos, or about $5 USD). Uber is also widely available and a convenient option. Taxis require payment in Colombian pesos, so we recommend visiting the currency exchange at the airport beforehand.

Cartagena is very walkable and easy to navigate. You won’t need to rent a car, as most destinations are close by and taxis and Ubers are available and affordable. We do recommend confirming the fare with your taxi driver before beginning your trip.
